Leverkusen One Win Away From Title

Bayern Munich gave away a two-goal lead and lost 3-2 to newly-promoted Heidenheim while leaders Leverkusen edged Union Berlin on Florian Wirtz’s sole goal in the 28th round of the Bundesliga on Saturday.

Bayer Leverkusen is now one victory away from a first Bundesliga title, moving 16 points clear with six rounds to go and unbeaten in 41 games across all competitions.

Will a Bundesliga Team Earn a Fifth UEFA Champions League Spot?

The battle for a top-four finish is usually one of the most entertaining fights in the final weeks of a Bundesliga season, and this year is no exception, with Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig looking like they will take their battle for fourth to the final weeks of the campaign.

Soccer betting fans saw Dortmund drop three points last weekend, losing 1-0 at home to Stuttgart, while RB Leipzig destroyed Freiburg beating them 4-1 on the road to overtake Dortmund on goal difference.

The fifth-placed team might be in line for a bonus spot in the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League thanks to UEFA awarding an extra qualification spot to the two best-performing leagues in the current season.

Recent last-16 victories for Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League and Europa League, respectively, means the Bundesliga is sitting second in the standings just behind Serie A.

There are still many points to play for with the three UEFA competitions at the quarter-final stages. The Bundesliga still has three representatives: Bayern Munich and Dortmund in the Champions League and Leverkusen in the Europa League, but its closest competitors for the top two also have multiple teams competing for continental glory.

Thomas Muller Reaches 700 Appearances for Bayern Munich

FC Bayern’s legendary midfielder Thomas Muller made history by becoming the club´s second player to register 700 appearances in all competitions.

The German legend has reached the feat during Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga fixture against Heidenheim. However, the fixture ended in a defeat for the Bavarians as the home side completed a historic turnaround to come from two goals down to win 3-2.

It was by no means a spectacular performance by the Black and Yellows, but they certainly earned the three points by maintaining their defensive discipline and frustrating Thomas Tuchel’s side over the entirety of the game.

Bayern Munich couldn’t do much to pay tribute to one of their greatest players of all time as Thomas Muller became the club’s first-ever outfield player to reach 700 appearances, with only Sepp Maier ahead of him with 709 appearances.

Bayern will play relegation candidates FC Koln next weekend and they enter this clash as heavy favorites being priced at -460 according to the latest soccer odds.

Mainz, FC Koln Get Huge Wins in Relegation Race

Relegation-threatened FC Koln snatched a vital 2-1 win against Bochum as last-minute goals from Steffen Tigges and Luca Waldschmidt sealed the deal.

Mainz showed no mercy with bottom-placed Darmstadt after securing a 4-0 victory. The two sides are sitting four points and three points behind respectively with Mainz hosting Hoffenheim next weekend.

Darmstadt is the clear favorite for relegation at a -15000 soccer betting line.
