Barcola Rising to the Occasion

Both Paris Saint-Germain and Girona suffered several major departures this summer. Girona lost midfield metronome Aleix Garcia, electric Brazilian winger Savinhoand last season’s top scorer in La Liga, Artem Dovbyk. As for Paris Saint-Germain, they have lost Kylian Mbappe, who has finished as top scorer in Ligue 1 in each of the last six seasons.

And yet, that hasn’t stopped PSG from racking up the goals – they’ve scored 16 goals and conceded three in their first four Ligue 1 matches. Despite losing Goncalo Ramos to a long-term injury and failing to sign a big-name attacker like Victor Osimhen or Ademola Lookman, PSG are blowing teams out at the moment.

PSG posted 3-1 wins in each of their last two matches vs. Lille and Brest – both of whom are competing in the Champions League. One player who has emerged as a vital figure in attack is Bradley Barcola, having scored four goals in four matches. Barcola is +150 in UEFA soccer lines to score a goal on Wednesday.

As for Girona, they haven’t quite managed to hit top gear so far. After narrowly escaping Betis with a 1-1 draw in their opener, Girona were demolished 3-0 at Atletico Madrid before bouncing back with a 4-0 win vs. Osasuna and a 2-0 victory at Sevilla. However, they returned from international break by falling to a 4-1 shellacking at the hands of Barcelona.

Girona is well back in Champions League odds at -20000 while PSG is -2000 to win the event.

Three of Girona’s last four matches have featured over 2.5 goals, whilst each of PSG’s last five have featured over 2.5 goals. At +101, there’s surprisingly good champions league prop betting value here when it comes to the Over, and as such, we’re going to trust our gut and pick a high-scoring affair.

Paris Saint-Germain have hit the ground running and are more than capable of subjecting Girona to a long day at the office. Don’t overthink this – PSG’s last four matches have featured over 3.5 goals, and there’s reason to believe that pattern will not continue vs Girona in online betting.

PICKS: PSG to win (-256). Over 3 goals (+101). Barcola to Score (+150)
