Will the Real BVB Please Stand Up?

It has been a Jekyll and Hyde season for Borussia Dortmund. They are set to finish outside the top four for the first time in nine years after succumbing to a 4-1 loss at RB Leipzig on Saturday – with just three matches left, they sit five points behind fourth-placed Leipzig. However, with the Bundesliga all but guaranteed to receive an extra spot, they can rest easy knowing that they will be in the UEFA Champions League next season. If they play their cards right, they could very well be in this year’s UEFA Champions League Final.

Dortmund finished atop the ‘Group of Death’ ahead of Newcastle, Milan and PSG. Both Dortmund and PSG boast a wealth of attacking options, with Edin Terzic’s side scoring 2+ goals in eight of their last 12 matches. As for Les Parisiens, they will have little time to celebrate winning the Ligue 1 title as they look to shake off their recent defensive struggles, but with the likes of Kylian Mbappé, Gonçalo Ramos, Bradley Barcola and Ousmane Dembélé, they have more than enough firepower to trouble a BVB side that has conceded 39 goals in 31 league matches.

Both teams have scored in PSG’s last six matches, and we’re backing that trend to continue on Wednesday. Whilst Luis Enrique has enjoyed a stellar debut campaign at the Parc des Princes, winning 4-1 in three of their last four matches, clean sheets have been hard to come by. They’ve kept out the opposition in just one of their last five away matches, and they could have a tough time keeping out BVB’s high-powered attack.

We’re backing both teams to score in our Champions League betting picks.

Questions Of The Day

Which Champions League match is likely to see both teams score?

The last match between PSG and BVB saw both teams find the back of the net, and there’s reason to believe this one will follow that trend.

Which player is likely to score in the Champions League this week?

Over the past three weeks, Ousmane Dembélé has scored a brace vs. Lorient and a goal in both legs vs. former club Barcelona. We’re backing him to find the back of the net against his former club Borussia Dortmund in Wednesday’s trip to Germany.
