How to Bet on Real Betis vs Girona?

Real Betis Always Puts Up a Good Fight

Last season, Real Betis finished seventh, which means Los Verdiblancos qualified for the UEFA Europa Conference League. They were considerably better when playing at home, where they only lost three of 19 games.

Individually, William Jose finished as the team’s top scorer with 14 goals in all competitions. The bad news is that the Brazilian decided to leave and signed for Spartak Moscow. The good news is that Isco Alarcon, named Real Betis’ Player of the Season, didn’t go anywhere.

More good news because Los Verdiblancos managed to sign Marc Roca for good. The midfielder, who played for Bayern Munich and Leeds United before returning to Spain, was on loan last season.

Finally, there’s Marc Bartra, a very good central defender who missed last season due to injury. When healthy, Bartra can be one of the best in the business, and Los Verdiblancos really need him because they also lost German Pezzella, who moved to Argentina to play for River Plate.

Summing up, Los Verdiblancos have what it takes to put up another good fight this season. In fact, checking the latest La Liga betting odds to win the title, Real Betis is +4000. Not bad for a team that finished in the top seven in each of the last four seasons.

And don’t forget that Real Betis is led by head coach Manuel Pellegrini, whose resume includes powerhouses like Real Madrid and Manchester City.

Bet This Pick: Real Betis to Win (+142)

Stay Away from Girona

Saying this doesn’t make me happy but Girona isn’t going to meet expectations this season. Los Rojiblancos, who last season finished third and qualified for the UEFA Champions League, lost several key players, including their top scorer.

Artem Dobvyk, who ruined my EURO fantasy team (I’m still hurt), won last season’s Golden Boot after scoring 24 goals. He’ll now play for AS Roma in the Italian Serie A. Los Rojiblancos also lost four players who were on loan, Pau Victor and Eric Garcia, who returned to FC Barcelona, and Yan Couto and Savio de Oliveira, who returned to Manchester City. Last but not least, Aleix Garcia signed for Bayer Leverkusen.

Yes, Los Rojiblancos signed some good players like Donny van de Beek and Bryan Gil, but they need time to adapt. Plus, Van de Beek is suffering from a virus and isn’t expected to play against Real Betis, while Gil is questionable due to muscular problems. Both missed the team’s last two friendly matches, which they lost 4-0 to Newcastle and 3-2 to Bournemouth.

Finally, as mentioned before, Los Rojiblancos will also play in the UCL. I’m not sure they’ve what it takes to play in two such demanding tournaments. The pressure will eat them alive, which is why I don’t recommend you include Girona in your soccer betting ticket.
