Bayern Munich Caresses the Bundesliga Title

BM Own Seven-Point Advantage over RB Leipzig, Five Games Left

Robert Lewandowski wasn’t able to return, but Bayern Munich managed to grab a huge victory against Wolfsburg in order to increase the gap with RB Leipzig at the top of the Bundesliga. Only a catastrophe could prevent Bayern Munich from being crowned once again.

Let’s take a look at what happened in the last Bundesliga fixture and how the sports betting odds for what’s coming are set.

Bundesliga Breakdown

Jamal Musiala’s Time

Bayern Munich defeated Wolfsburg 3-2 on the road thanks to a couple of goals from youngster Jamal Musiala, who’s becoming one of Europe’s best new talents. Musiala and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting scored six of Bayern’s last seven goals in all competitions.

Now, Bayern Munich has 68 points, seven points more than RB Leipzig. This Saturday, they’ll be facing Mainz 05 as huge favorites -370 at the Bundesliga Odds, and they shouldn’t have any trouble winning that game.

RB Leipzig drew 0-0 against Hoffenheim, a game that they should’ve won. It looks like RB Leipzig is getting out of gas, because they’ve won just two of their last five games.

Their new main objective is to consolidate as second place in order to secure a UEFA Champions League ticket for next season. Next Sunday, they’ll be facing Stuttgart with the betting lines -270 on their side.

Wolfsburg, Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund complete the Bundesliga top five with 54, 53 and 49 points. All are fighting for a Champions League/Europa League ticket, and Bayer Leverkusen, sixth with 47 points, is also in that race.

A lot can change on the weekend, because Wolfsburg +200 will play host to Borussia Dortmund, and Bayer Leverkusen +125 will do the same against Frankfurt.

So far, no Bundesliga team has joined the new Super League, so qualifying for the Champions League/Europa League is still a big deal.

“As Bayern, it is our wish and our aim that European clubs live the wonderful and emotional competition that is the Champions League and develop it together with UEFA. Bayern says no to the Super League,” said Bayern Munich’s president Herbert Hainer.

DFB Pokal

RB Leipzig, Werder Bremen and Borussia Dortmund still can win a title this season, because they’re still competing in the DFB Pokal, the domestic cup, and Bayern Munich is already eliminated.

The semifinals will be at the end of the month, with Werder Bremen playing host to RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund playing host to KSV Holstein. Right now, Borussia Dortmund is the favorite at the Odds to win DFB Pokal.

At the Bottom

Schalke 04 is already gone. They lost 4-0 to Freiburg and have only 13 points, 10 points less than Koln, who’s also in the relegation zone.

Koln still has a chance, because Hertha Berlin is just three points away, while Arminia and Mainz 05 are just four and five points above. With five games to go, each game should be like a grand finale.

Next weekend, Koln will be facing Augsburg, while Mainz 05 will be facing Bayern Munich, and Arminia will be facing Borussia Monchengladbach, all as underdogs.
