Bundesliga clubs had an extended winter break due to the World Cup, which will also affect some players’ return to training. Our sportsbook offers the best markets and bonuses in the top-flight German league.
Let’s check the latest Soccer picks, stats, injury reports, and Soccer predictions. We’ve plenty of Soccer expert picks for you to consider.
Bundesliga Mid-January Return
The Bundesliga resumes with a superb match Jan. 20th, when the Bavarian giants of Bayern Munich travel to third-placed RB Leipzig. With 15 games down and 19 still remaining, the Bundesliga leaders have a four-point cushion on Freiburg. RB Leipzig, Eintracht Frankfurt, Union Berlin and Dortmund complete an ultra-competitive top six, while only six points separate fourth through ninth places.
Freiburg, currently Bayern’s top title rival, are back a day later with an away game against Wolfsburg. Borussia Dortmund return Sunday, Jan. 22nd, with a home clash against Augsburg.
Do Not Discount Leverkusen
A poor start to their season behind them, Leverkusen are finally finding their feet under new manager Xabi Alonso. Florian Wirtz is set to make a welcome return in the new year. Things are bright, so we’ll start including them in our soccer picks and parlays.
Their worst-ever start to the top flight (four losses in five games), Leverkusen ended 2022 with three consecutive wins (nine goals, two clean sheets). They’re sitting 12th in the standings, four points above the red zone.
Leverkusen haven’t been the same side that scored 80 goals the previous term, but Moussa Diaby and Jeremie Frimpong have enjoyed some great performances so far. Wirtz almost certainly would have made Hansi Flick’s German World Cup squad in Qatar. Expect him to star once he hits the pitch in 2023.
Europe’s Most Exciting League
Bundesliga boasts a Europe-leading average of 3.19 goals per game, based on the first 15 rounds of fixtures of the current campaign. RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku is the leading scorer (12 goals). He is set to return (knee injury) in the next few months, along with Sadio Mane and Timo Werner. If you’re betting online and love your goals, Bundesliga is the league.
Bayern Munich, Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Europa League holders Eintracht Frankfurt are through to the Champions League last 16, and Freiburg the Europa League equivalent. Union Berlin and Leverkusen have a chance to join them via the playoffs.
Watch Randal Kolo Muani
Randal Kolo Muani signed with Eintracht Frankfurt this past summer. The new arrival hit the ground running, with a DFB Cup debut assist in Magdeburg and a Bundesliga debut goal in a loss (Bayern Munich). He was rewarded with a promotion to the French squad at the World Cup.
Bayern Munich and Manchester United are interested in the French international. The Red Devils are preparing a $60m offer in January, while Bayern want the striker in the summer, and are chatting with his entourage. Kolo Muani prefers to stay in the Bundesliga, at least now.
