Road to Roma: All-Italian Showdown Stands Between Milan and Europa Glory
An all-Italian tie should lower travel costs for both sides, but means an exceptionally tough contest on the pitch.
AC Milan was paired with Serie A rival AS Roma, with both sides chasing their only chance at silverware this season.
Milan reached the last eight with a comprehensive 7-3 aggregate win over Slavia Prague, as Christian Pulisic scored in both legs of the tie. Roma, meanwhile, defeated Brighton 4-1 on aggregate in their last-16 matchup.

Milan will host the first leg on April 11 at San Siro, with the second leg taking place on April 18 in the Italian capital.
Roma and Milan have met twice this season, with the Rossoneri winning 2-1 in Rome and 3-1 in Milan respectively.
The winner of Milan’s tie with AS Roma will face either Bayer Leverkusen or West Ham in the semifinal.
Atalanta Out to Halt Liverpool’s Treble Charge in Europa Clash
Liverpool lost out to Man United in the FA Cup quarter-finals, but with the League Cup already in the bag, a treble remains a possibility in Jurgen Klopp’s final season in charge, so we will continue to include them in our soccer picks and parlays.
Liverpool comfortably advanced to the Europa League quarterfinals with a resounding 6-1 victory over Sparta Prague at Anfield, securing an 11-2 aggregate win in the tie. Atalanta, meanwhile, progressed to the next round after defeating Sporting Lisbon 2-1, qualifying on a 3-2 aggregate victory.
Gian Piero Gasperini’s attack-minded side did not enjoy their first date with Liverpool in the 2020-21 Champions League, with a 5-0 home loss forcing the coach to admit the difference in class between the two sides.
However, after eliminating Portuguese giants Sporting in the preview round, the Italian outfit has shown they can stand up to the continental top sides, while forward Ademola Lookman may have some extra motivation, having played for Liverpool’s city rivals Everton.

Treble Dreamers Leverkusen Brace for West Ham Europa Test
Perhaps the most unpredictable element in Leverkusen’s potential treble, yet a provoking one, is the UEFA Europa League.
The quarterfinal draw presents Leverkusen with the requirement to beat Freiburg winners in the previous round, West Ham. Should they safely navigate the two legs against the Hammers, Leverkusen will then face either AC Milan or AS Roma to earn a spot in the final.
You don’t go unbeaten in 38 matches in all competitions if you are not a seriously world-class team.
Leverkusen’s run to the last four of last season’s Europa League, when they were beaten by Roma, appears in many ways to have lit the touchpaper for their superb current campaign.
David Moyes will not have forgotten that his team lost 4-0 when they met Leverkusen in an August 2023 friendly.
Leverkusen is -185 in Europa League soccer predictions to win the opening leg.
Aubameyang’s Marseille Stands in Way of Benfica’s Europa Revival
Europa League round of 16 victory against Rangers restored some equilibrium in Benfica’s season.
Marseille has had some significant mood swings in recent months, but the arrival of coach Jean-Louis Gasset on a short-term contract has raised morale, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s goals have propelled him to the top of the Europa League scorers’ rankings.
Aubameyang is the player to watch and the best player prop bet for this quarterfinal double-legged tie.
Questions Of The Day
Who has the better recent record between AS Roma and AC Milan?
The Giallorossi have won just one of their last 13 meetings against Milan, a 2-1 Serie A home success in October 2019. Milan has won both encounters this season, Giroud finding the net in each of them.
What teams won the most trophies in the Europa League?
Sevilla made soccer news by winning the Europa League a record six times. Although the trophy isn’t quite as prestigious as the Champions League, big-time clubs still take this tournament seriously.
