Juventus Refuses to Finish out of Italian Serie A Top Four

Needs More than Single Victory in Last Fixture

One game left in the Italian Serie A, and only Inter Milan and Atalanta have secured a ticket for the UEFA Champions League, leaving AC Milan, Napoli and Juventus to fight for the other two as fifth place will be doomed to play the Europa League.

Let’s take a look at what happened in the last Italian Serie A fixture and how the sports betting odds are set for what’s next.

Combination

In the last fixture, Juventus defeated Inter Milan 3-2 in a game where both finished with 10 players. Beating Inter Milan allowed Juve to stay in the fight for third and fourth place, the last two to grant a UEFA Champions League ticket.

“It was important for us to win this so that we can keep hoping. We had a duty to secure three points tonight and we managed it despite the difficulties. If we’d shown the same desire and determination as in our last few games, we’d be in a different position. However, if we’re going into the final game of the season fighting for fourth place, clearly, we’ve come up short somewhere. These players still have a lot to give though, and I’m convinced this squad can do well,” said manager Andrea Pirlo after the game.

To Juventus’ regret, AC Milan drew 0-0 against Cagliari and Napoli won 2-0 against Fiorentina, which means they still depend on themselves to finish in third and fourth place, but AC Milan will have the most complicated challenge in the last fixture.

In order to finish in the top four, Cristiano Ronaldo and Juventus need to beat Bologna and expect AC Milan or Napoli not to win. Juve dominates the Italian Serie A Odds against Bologna with a -360 price, while Napoli is also favorite -475 against Hellas Verona.

AC Milan will face Atalanta, and both are offering a +150 price. Atalanta already secured a Champions League ticket, but they want to finish as runners-up, and they need a victory to do it, otherwise, AC Milan or Napoli could end up in second place.

Relegated

Parma and Crotone couldn’t avoid relegation, meaning they’ll play in Serie B next season, while Benevento is on the verge of getting relegated, but they still have a chance. They need to beat Torino in the last fixture, but prior to that they need Lazio to beat Torino in a midweek rescheduled match, otherwise the last fixture game would be just for honor.

Torino comes in as the underdog +260 against Lazio, but they dominate the betting lines +105 against Benevento.

Meanwhile, Empoli, Salernitana and Associazione Calcio Monza are ready to play in the Serie A next year.

Domestic Cup

Prior to this weekend’s action, Atalanta will collide with Juventus in the Italian Cup Grand Finale. The match is scheduled for this Wednesday, and Atalanta comes in as the slight favorite +150 at the Italian Cup Odds.

Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t play against Inter Milan last Sunday, but he’ll be ready for this game. Winning the cup is the only way for both to not finish the season trophyless.

Atalanta lost the final two years ago to Lazio, while Juve lost the final last year against Napoli. Atalanta eliminated Cagliari, Lazio and Napoli to get here, while Juventus eliminated Genoa, SPAL and Inter Milan.

According to the latest Soccer Props, Atalanta winning 1-0 is offering a price of +900, while Juventus winning 1-0 is +650. You can also predict the Half time/Full time winner.

Italian Serie A Top Scorers
