Leipzig Top Bet on Road vs Wolfsburg

Despite losing various key players this summer including Dominik Szoboszlai, Josko Gvardiol and Christopher Nkunku, RB Leipzig have enjoyed a promising start to the 2023-24 season under Marco Rose and are on track to finish in the top four for the sixth straight year.

Leipzig have already booked their ticket in the Champions League Round of 16. Entering Saturday’s match as soccer betting favorites vs. Wolfsburg, they currently occupy fourth place, sitting two points above Dortmund, one behind Stuttgart, six behind Bayern and eight behind Leverkusen. Even as they look set to lose club legend Emil Forsberg in the January window, Leipzig not only have what it takes to make another push for top four, but they’re also prime candidates for a dark-horse run in the UEFA Champions League.

New Additions Bolster RB Leipzig

Having won the last two DFB-Pokals, Leipzig exited the cup on October 31 in a 1-0 defeat to Wolfsburg before falling to a 2-0 loss at Mainz, but they would bounce back by beating Red Star Belgrade 2-1 via goals from Lois Openda and Xavi Simons.

These two new arrivals have proven vital in attack, with Simons racking up six goals and eight assists in 18 matches since joining on loan from PSG whilst Openda has delivered 11 goals and two assists in 18 since arriving from Lens. They found the back of the net once again as Leipzig beat Freiburg 3-1 to collect their seventh league win, and the soccer betting odds are in their favor as they look to avenge their recent defeat in the cup.

Wolfsburg Stumbles

Wolfsburg’s promising start to the campaign has quickly evaporated; after falling to a 3-1 loss to Stuttgart, they returned from the October international break with a 2-1 loss to Leverkusen before losing 3-2 to Augsburg, sharing the spoils in a 2-2 draw to Werder Bremen and suffering a 4-0 defeat to Gladbach.

Over half of their 15 Bundesliga goals have come from Jonas Wind, who has provided eight goals and one assist, but his red-hot form has also cooled off with just one goal since the start of October.

Wolfsburg vs RB Leipzig Best Bet

Bundesliga betting aficionados will be aware of Wolfsburg’s potential threat, but for a team that spent heavily this summer on the likes of Joakim Maehle and Lovro Majer, it seems that they’re still far away from gelling as a unit. On the other hand, Leipzig’s collective attacking arsenal makes them a surefire addition to your German betting picks, with the likes of Timo Werner, Yussuf Poulsen, and Benjamin Sesko more than capable of wreaking havoc against a Wolfsburg side that has conceded two or more goals in each of their last five league matches.

If you’re looking for a guaranteed winner in your soccer picks and parlays, look no further than a Leipzig win here.

Soccer Prediction: Leipzig to win (-110)

Bayern vs Cologne to Produce Plenty of Goals

The first match of the weekend in Germany will also be the most lopsided, at least on paper. Bayern Munich have scored the most goals in Europe’s top 5 leagues (42) and have conceded the fewest goals in Germany (9). Yet, they sit two points behind Leverkusen as well as 23 above 17th-placed Cologne.

Steffen Baumgart’s Cologne side sit level on six points with Union Berlin, one point behind Mainz and two away from automatic safety, having scored nine goals – the lowest tally in the Bundesliga – and conceded 23. They are no stranger to a high-scoring result, as evidenced by their 3-1 loss to Hoffenheim on Sept. 16, their 3-0 loss to Leverkusen on Oct. 8 or their 3-1 win against Gladbach on Oct. 22.

Cologne would follow that up by losing 6-0 to Leipzig, 3-2 to lower-tier Kaiserslautern in the cup, and drawing 1-1 to Augsburg and Bochum. They have a tough task ahead of them on Friday as they host the defending champions.

Apart from an embarrassing 2-1 defeat to lower-tier Saarbrucken in the cup and a 3-0 loss to Leipzig in the DFL-Supercup, Bayern’s sole blemishes have come in their 2-2 draws against Leverkusen and Leipzig. There’s more than enough evidence to include a high-scoring result amongst your Bundesliga predictions, but the most important one is none other than Harry Kane, who has racked up an astonishing 17 goals in the league, more than last season’s top scorer.

Bayern have already had 12 matches in all competitions this season that featured over 3.5 goals, including their most recent result, a 4-2 win against Heidenheim. I’m expecting that to continue at the RheinEnergieStadion.

Soccer Prediction: Over 3.5 goals (-108)
