Not a One Ligue Team
Many believe that Ligue 1 is only about PSG. Yes, the Parisians are huge betting online favorites to win the title but, again, that doesn’t mean other teams aren’t capable of putting on a good show.
Plus, due to the 2022 World Cup, which will take place from Nov. 21 to Dec. 18, a number of changes will be implemented for the 2022-23 season, including a completely new French-style Boxing Day.
PSG vs AS Monaco (Aug. 28)
Last season, PSG regained the throne after finishing with a 26-8-4 record. AS Monaco finished third thanks to a 20-9-9 record. The Monegasques were one of those teams that managed to beat the Parisians. AS Monaco crushed them 3-0 at Stade Louis II. PSG won their first meeting 2-0 at Parc des Princes.
You can expect fireworks as last season’s two top scorers will be on the field. We’re talking about Kylian Mbappe (PSG) and Wissam Ben Yedder (AS Monaco), who scored 28 and 25 goals, respectively. Plus, the Monegasques have a new weapon in Takumi Minamino.
Last, but not least, as mentioned before, the Parisians are the favorites to win the title, again as they’re offering a -1000 price. On the other hand, AS Monaco is +2000. Only Olympique Marseille and Olympique Lyon are in front of them.
Lille vs Nice (Aug. 31)
Lille had an awful 2021-22 season, finishing in 10th place. However, we can’t forget that the season before they won the title. Finishing out of the top five means no international competition for them, which also means they’re going to be able to focus on the domestic title. If you were looking for a dark horse to include in your soccer picks, you might want to consider Lille at +8000.
As for Nice, the Eaglets finished fifth, allowing them to qualify for the UEFA Conference League. They also reached the Coupe de France Grand Finale but lost to Nantes. Their main goal for the upcoming season is to finish in the top three to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
With Andy Delort and Jonathan David on the field, you can expect fireworks as well. Last season, Delort scored 18 goals while David scored 15.
Olympique Marseille vs Olympique Lyon (Nov. 6)
According to the latest soccer lines, Olympique Marseille is the team with the best chances to dethrone PSG. The Olympians, who finished as the 2021-22 runners-up, are offering a +1100 price. They made sure to bring quality reinforcements, including Matteo Guendouzi, Arkadiusz Milik and Chancel Mbemba.
As for Olympique Lyon, they’re offering a +1400 price to win the title. Therefore, the winner of this game could become PSG’s main threat. Despite a huge interest from several European powerhouses, Lyon managed to retain Moussa Dembele, who last season scored 21 goals.
Talking about last season, Lyon won both meetings between the two, 2-1 and 3-0, which means the Olympians are thirsty for revenge.
Lens vs PSG (Jan. 1)
The players won’t be able to receive the new year with a party as the completely new French-style Boxing Day will take place on Jan. 1. All 20 teams will play, including Lens and PSG.
Lens finished the 2021-22 season in seventh place, only four points behind Rennes, the team that earned a direct ticket to the UEL. As if that wasn’t enough, Lens was one of the few teams that PSG couldn’t defeat at all. Both meetings between the two ended 1-1.
Many PSG players will be physically exhausted due to the World Cup, so this will be a great opportunity for the Blood and Gold to beat the Parisians.
Olympique Marseille vs PSG (Feb. 26)
We couldn’t leave out the match between the two main contenders for the title. This will be Jorge Sampaoli’s third season in charge of Marseille. On the other hand, the visitors could still be adapting to the new ideas of the coaching staff led by Christophe Galtier, who was chosen to replace Mauricio Pochettino.
Last season, the Olympians put up a good fight in both meetings against the Parisians, but couldn’t win any. The first one finished with a goalless draw while PSG won the second 2-1 thanks to a penalty scored by Mbappe.
If things go according to plan, this match could have a big impact on the Las Vegas odds to win the title.
