Can’t Win All the Time

There’s no doubt that Manchester City is one of the best teams in the world. However, not even the best teams can win all the time. In the last fixture, the Citizens drew 1-1 to Southampton.

Believe it or not, the Citizens made 777 passes with a 90 percent precision. They also won possession with 75 percent and made 20 shots in total, five on target. You can’t accuse them of not trying.

Liverpool took advantage of that result to reduce the gap with the Citizens to nine points. Potentially six, because as I mentioned before, they’ve played one game less. The Reds have kept winning despite not having Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, who are both playing in the African Cup of Nations.

Most recently, the Reds defeated Crystal Palace 3-1 with goals from Virgil van Dijk, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Fabinho Tavares. Scoring three goals despite not having two of its main attacking players proves how good Liverpool is.

The Reds are the top-scoring team in the league with 58 goals. Manchester City owns the best defensive record after allowing only 14 goals in 23 games. It’s going to be a great battle.

They just got a huge 1-0 victory over West Ham United thanks to a late goal from Marcus Rashford. It’s nice to see that Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t have to do it all. Precisely, that victory allowed the Red Devils to climb up to fourth place while the Hammers fell to fifth place.

Arsenal, Tottenham and Wolverhampton are the other teams aiming for a UEFA competition. Only the Wolves won in the last fixture. In fact, they’re one of three teams that haven’t lost in their last five games. Manchester City and Brighton complete the short list.

Newcastle not Giving Up

Not losing in its last three games hasn’t been enough for Newcastle to get out of the relegation zone. However, the Magpies are now one victory away from doing it. They also need Norwich to lose or draw in the next fixture.

Jamie Vardy (Leicester City) and  Ronaldo (Manchester United) come next with nine and eight goals. However, they haven’t scored in awhile. Go with Salah at -350 before the price gets higher.
