Serie A 2022-23 Winners

Three-Team Race Expected for Title

The Serie A 2022-23 title race could be the closest of any in Europe. The odds certainly think so, with three teams being priced almost the same. You can live-bet on the Italian top-flight league by using our sportsbook.

  • Inter Milan

After a nine-year run of Juventus supremacy, Inter Milan has snapped the Old Lady’s streak of titles by winning the 2021 Scudetto. In 2022, the title stayed in Milan, but this time it was AC Milan that finished on top of the table.

Inter Milan was in control of their title defense destiny for most of last season before a draw late in the season saw that slip through their fingers. They finished two points behind AC Milan, failing to defend the title won under Antonio Conte the previous season. The Nerazzurri will be keen to respond and have already been linked with several notable names during the summer window.

Romelu Lukaku had a fantastic two seasons at San Siro, winning the Scudetto and reaching the Europa League Final, before pushing for the $113m move to Chelsea last summer. After a poor season at Chelsea, he returned on loan to Inter and he will certainly score many goals in Serie A. He has a chance to make a major impact on an Inter attack that also includes Lautaro Martinez and Edin Dzeko. There’s more depth here now and we will definitely include them in our soccer picks and parlays.

The reason why Inter is currently the favorite is that they have the longest track record of recent success finishing in the top two in the previous three seasons. Their midfield is led by Italian standout Nicolo Barella, who is joined by Hakan Calhanoglu along with some depth in veteran Henrikh Mkhitaryan. There’s a lot of skill and creativity within this group, so expect to see a fair share of goals from Inter this campaign.

  • Juventus

It looks like Juventus is eager to bounce back and regain their position at the top of the table in Serie A. This is a team coming off a pair of consecutive poor campaigns, finishing fourth each year after winning the league the nine previous seasons. They brought back Paul Pogba, who should make a major impact in the midfield after failing to meet lofty expectations at Manchester United. They also added Angel Di Maria, a veteran winger who should thrive in Serie A.

The Bianconeri have overtaken AC Milan as the biggest threat to Inter, being priced at +185. The previous campaign was Massimiliano Allegri’s sixth at the Bianconeri helm across two spells and the first which did not yield at least a Scudetto. After a trophyless season for the first time in 10 years, they have a duty to win the domestic title.

There is much excitement about the new-look Juventus. Pogba must step up his game and show his real value, Dusan Vlahovic will score loads of goals with the help of Di Maria. They also have Chiesa, who should be back in time for the season opener. It all depends on how fast Allegri will find the perfect starting lineup, but also for the most important players to stay fit. If you’re soccer betting online, you should put your money on Juventus this season.

  • AC Milan

AC Milan won the Serie A title in the 2021-22 season. The Rossoneri amassed a total of 86 points, two more than the runners-up Inter. They won 26 and drew eight of their 38 matches, scoring 69 goals and conceding 31. It was Milan’s first title since 2011. With 19 Scudettos, they are level with rivals Inter Milan for the second-most wins in Serie A history. Juventus holds a commanding lead with 36 titles all time.

They have acquired Divock Origi and Alessandro Florenzi, but Franck Kessie has headed through the exit door. Milan might actually prefer the fact that Inter and Juventus are more fancied to finish on top of the pile because there’s no pressure on them.

Milan might have earned good money from their title win, alongside the cash coming in from another season in the Champions League. However, they still have to run on a tight budget, and Inter and Juventus have far greater spending power. They are very organized at the back and that’s the main reason for winning many games by just one goal.

AC Milan are the third favorites to win the title at +275 with the latest soccer odds. We will avoid betting on them and we will probably fade them many times next season.
