Wales scored when Dan James had a free-kick from 25 yards. Gareth Bale took it in the first half and the ball was headed in by Andriy Yarmolenko, Ukraine’s captain.

Wales will join England, Iran, and the United States in Group B for the World Cup, which starts on Nov. 21 and runs until Dec. 18.
