Noah Okafor: Red Bull Salzburg
Noah Okafor began his career with FC Arisdorf’s academy before moving to FC Basel, where he signed his first professional contract with his club. After two years, 39 games played and three goals scored with Basel, he signed with Austrian giants Salzburg. He played over 50 games in the Austrian Bundesliga, scoring 18 goals in the process.

Okafor is a super talent who is blessed with skills and pace. He’s an exciting striker known for his composure in the box and his one-on-one power. He only played eight games under his country’s flag, but he will definitely be at the World Cup and he will have a great career. During the last two months, many Premier League and Bundesliga teams have been linked with Okafor. We expect him to score many goals in the Austrian top-flight league and European competitions, so we will include him in our soccer picks and parlays.
Michel Aebischer: Bologna
Bologna has officially signed midfielder Michel Aebischer from Young Boys on a permanent deal after having him on loan for the second half of last season. The 25-year-old has seven senior caps for Switzerland under his belt and was a product of the Young Boys academy.
He played 133 games in the Swiss league, scoring 12 goals. He made his Serie A debut back in February against Empoli. He’s not yet a starter for Bologna, but he played at least 20 minutes in each match this season. He will clearly make the Cup and travel with the team in Qatar, but he will be one of the bench players. He debuted for Switzerland national team in November 2019 against Gibraltar in a Euro 2020 qualifier. His contract with Bologna ends on June 30, 2023, and has a current market value of $3.5m.
Eray Comert: Valencia
At 23, the Swiss international has made 140 appearances for the Basel first team since his debut in 2016. Following two loan spells to Lugano and Sion in the Swiss Super League to gain experience, he has been a regular in Basel’s starting lineup. Before moving to Valencia back in January, he was linked with Arsenal and many other teams in the Turkish league.
He captained the Swiss U21 team and was part of the Switzerland team that made the Euros 2020 quarterfinals. He is pacey and solid with the ball at his feet and is known to make the occasional foray forward. He only played a few matches last season for Valencia, but this term he’s a starter and if he keeps performing well and appears in the starting lineup week in and week out, we will definitely see him on the plane for Qatar. He already earned seven international caps and we don’t expect him to stop here. Valencia is very unreliable this season so make sure you fade them if you’re betting online.
Switzerland World Cup Expectations
While the team may have struggled to overcome the Round of 16 stages, Switzerland nevertheless have an impressive record at recent World Cups. The last four times that they have qualified, they have played 15 matches and lost only three of them in the regulation 90 minutes.
They have a solid squad, a great combo between experienced players and young and talented ones. They were drawn into Group G together with Brazil, Serbia and Cameroon.
