In the fifth-round, they won at Portsmouth 2-0 and got an extra-time goal from Dani Ceballos to win at Sheffield United 2-1 in the quarterfinals. They had very little of the possession but got two goals from Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang to upset Manchester City 2-0 in the semifinals.

Chelsea Outlook: Finish Strong

Chelsea has the chance to lift the FA Cup for the second time in three years and give former star Frank Lampard his first major trophy as a manager. Lampard won four FA Cups as a player for the Blues and undoubtedly has them on the brink of qualifying for next year’s Champions League as they sit in third place in the Premier League.

American Christian Pulisic should become the third US-born player to feature in a FA Cup final following John Harkes and Tim Howard.

Path to the Final

Chelsea joined the FA Cup in the third round with a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest and a 2-1 fourth-round win at Hull City. Additionally, they upset Liverpool 2-0 in the fifth round and won at Leicester City 1-0 in the quarterfinals on a Ross Barkley goal.

The Blues looked fantastic against Manchester United in the semifinals with a 3-1 win behind goals from Olivier Giroud, Mason Mount, and a United own goal.
