3 Reasons Why England Wins 2023 World Cup Final

Lionesses Bidding for First Title vs Spain

Believe it or not, England comes in as the betting online underdogs for the Women’s World Cup 2023 final. The team that won the UEFA Euro in 2022 isn’t the favorite to win the World Cup. There are some people who believe that winning the Euro is much more difficult than winning the WC.

Anyway, I still can’t believe it. That’s why I agreed to write this article, to explain the main three reasons why the Lionesses will defeat Spain in the Grand Finale, which is scheduled for Sunday, August 20, at 6 a.m.

The Three Musketeers

After missing the last two games due to suspension, Lauren James will return for England. Considered one of the best players in the world, James has scored three goals and leads the tournament in assists with three. Having James back is huge for the Lionesses, especially because she’s fully rested. For the wrong reasons, but she’s rested.

Having her back also means that the Three Musketeers will fight together once again. Like James, Alessia Russo and Lauren Hemp have scored three goals each. Any of them can end up making the difference – a huge difference. They already have since they’ve scored 69 percent of England’s goals in the World Cup.

The Lionesses scoring in the Grand Finale is offering a -250 price in the soccer lines. I know it’s a bit pricey but take it. England scored in 16 of their last 20 matches in all competitions.

Experience

As mentioned before, England already won a major tournament, unlike Spain. The Lionesses won the 2022 edition of the European Championship and were undefeated. After winning Group A with a goal difference of +14, they defeated Spain – that’s right, Spain – Sweden and Germany in the knockout stages.

The Grand Finale against Germany went to overtime, which means they’re ready if the same thing happens this Sunday. It also means that the Lionesses are more than capable to deal with the pressure.

Also, England finished in the top four in the last two editions of the WC. Prior to reaching the final in the 2023 edition, Spain’s best result was the Round of 16.

That’s why, again, I can’t believe the Lionesses aren’t the favorites. But that’s good news for all soccer betting enthusiasts because they’re offering a +195 price to win straight up. That gives you the chance of winning $195 per every $100 wagered.

Head-to-Head

England and Spain have collided five times; England won three of those meetings, Spain won none. One of the Lionesses’ victories was in overtime, but the point is that Spain has never beaten England.

As if that wasn’t enough, the Lionesses have scored five goals while La Roja has only scored one. I know, history won’t be playing on Sunday, but trust me, the players are well aware of those numbers, which, by the way, are an extra motivating factor for the underdogs.
