Jamaica Not a Tempting Underdog

The Reggae Boyz qualified for the Copa America thanks to finishing third in the last edition of the CONCACAF Nations League. They lost to the United States in the semifinals (3-1) and defeated Panama for third place (1-0).

That’s not bad, but Jamaica hasn’t beaten a powerhouse since 2019. Their last three matches, which they managed to win, were against Panama, Dominican Republic and Dominica. They all deserve respect, but you can’t compare those teams to Mexico.

The soccer lines support that because Jamaica is +460 to win straight up. There’s also the fact that Jamaica is winless in the continental tournament. The Reggae Boys participated in the 2015 and 2016 editions, finishing 0-0-6 with zero goals for and nine against. In other words, defeating Mexico on Saturday would be a miracle.
