AS Roma and Feyenoord are going to square off in search of glory, and arguably the biggest success for these two teams in the last couple decades. You can live-bet on the top European soccer leagues by using our sportsbook.
AS Roma: Better on Paper
AS Roma managed to beat Torino last Friday in the closing round of their domestic league. The final result of that one was 3-0, and even though it didn’t have any competitive meaning, Il Lupi was focused on the pitch, beating Torino in its own house.
AS Roma could only finish a distant sixth and 23 points behind winners AC Milan in Serie A. But manager Jose Mourinho will be going for his fifth European success and it would be his third different trophy. And as Bundesliga’s Eintracht Frankfurt showed last week, domestic form means little in Europe.
This could be a Mourinho masterclass in doing enough to get the job done here and his Roma side could neutralize the Dutch attack and take the trophy to the Italian capital. Tammy Abraham signed off with a double against Torino in his last game and also netted the decisive goal against Leicester. He’s the player to watch and include him in your soccer picks and parlays if you love your props.
AS Roma will be in the Europa League next season, whether or not they win the Conference League, as they secured a top-six finish. Mourinho refused to give post-match interviews after Roma beat Torino 3-0, as Gianluca Mancini revealed they haven’t even started studying Conference League Final opponent Feyenoord.
Mourinho has guided huge clubs to European success on multiple occasions so he knows what it takes to get across the line in these big games. Mourinho signed a three-year deal with the Giallorossi in the summer and revealed last week that he is not planning to leave the club at the end of the season, so he will continue at the Stadio Olimpico also in 2022-23. Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s status for the Conference League final on Wednesday is still questionable as the Armenian veteran continues to deal with an injury to the flexor muscle
Feyenoord: Advantage over Roma
The Dutch season is already over and Feyenoord is preparing in Portugal for the Conference League final. They have 10 days between their final game of the domestic season and the final. Feyenoord is not a better team than Roma, but any squad that is given an extra week of rest and preparation has an enormous advantage. Anybody who disagrees with that has never played the game or knows what’s going on during a season.
The visitors have goals in them, but they are up against a man who has never lost a European final and knows how to do enough to get the job done. Feyenoord’s Cyriel Dessers is the tournament’s top scorer with 10 goals. The Nigerian has 20 goals for club and country this season.
Feyenoord lost in the last round of the Eredivisie at home to Twente in a game that didn’t mean anything for them, so they rested many of their key players. It was their first defeat in their previous 12 fixtures across all competitions. Goalkeeper Justin Bijlow had some pains, but he should be fully fit for the game the same as Tyrell Malacia. If you’re betting online, you already know it’s very tough to predict a winner as we are talking about a final between two relatively close teams.
AS Roma vs Feyenoord Head-to-Head
In the 2014-15 season, these two clubs met in the Europa League Round of 16. Roma had more success, eliminating the rivals 3-2 on aggregate. The first game, the one at the Olimpico, ended 1-1, but the Italians managed to beat Feyenoord at De Kuip, 1-2, and earn themselves the ticket to the next stage. AS Roma has lost their previous two finals, the 1984 European Cup Final and the 1991 UEFA Cup Final. While, the Rotterdam side has won all three of their previous finals, the first of which was a win against Celtic in the 1970 European Cup.

AS Roma vs Feyenoord Prediction
The hosts enter this clash as slight favorites being priced at +130 on the three-way moneyline according to the latest soccer odds while the goal line is set at 2½.
As with most cup finals, we are expecting a tight and tense 90 minutes in Albania. Mourinho is known for his defensive style of play and that is reflected in Roma’s recent results, with five of the Italian side’s last six matches producing under 2½ goals.
Two of Feyenoord’s last four fixtures have also witnessed fewer than three goals scored and we can see the Dutch side’s forwards having a tough time breaking down this Roma defense. The only problem here is that Roma has struggled to keep clean sheets away from home in the Conference league. Given Feyenoord’s attacking firepower, we expect them to find the back of the net. We’re basically going against the odds and backing the over. As a side bet, we will take AS Roma to score at least two goals on their own at +125.
Pick: Over 2½ goals in the match (-110)
