Just before their Champions League opener against Sevilla, Manchester City is traveling to play Aston Villa in the English Premier League Matchday 6 on Saturday. Our sportsbook is offering the best markets and bonuses for the Premier League.
Aston Villa: Poor Start
Aston Villa enters Saturday’s difficult clash on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal. Steven Gerrard’s side was beaten at Bournemouth on the opening weekend of the season before recording a 2-1 victory over Everton at Villa Park, but they have now lost their last three in the league. They are sitting 19th in the standings and it seems that their struggles will continue against the Citizens.
Villa finished 14th last term in their domestic league, 10 points above the relegation zone, and it remains to be seen whether they can push for a potential top-half spot this term. We don’t expect that to happen so if you’re betting online, just fade them.
Diego Carlos is a long-term absentee due to an Achilles’ tendon injury, but Tyrone Mings recovered from the illness that forced him to miss out against West Ham and played against Arsenal. The former Rangers boss took over from Dean Smith last season but has only managed 12 wins in 34 matches since arriving at Villa Park. Gerrard is now the main favorite to be the next Premier League manager sacked. Villa could finish the round bottom of the table.
Manchester City: Haaland Unstoppable
Manchester City will be aiming to maintain the unbeaten start of their Premier League campaign with another win against Villa. They destroyed Nottingham during the midweek action, beating them 6-0 with Erling scoring another hat trick. Haaland has scored nine goals in his first five domestic league appearances, a competition record that surpassed Mick Quinn and Sergio Aguero.
Pep Guardiola’s side has now won four and drawn one of their first five matches, collecting 13 points in the process, to sit in the second position in the table behind Arsenal. They are scoring goals for fun, but they also have a great fighting spirit. Even when they are down two goals, as it happened against Crystal Palace last weekend, they will keep calm and eventually win the game.
Manchester City leads the league in scoring with 19 goals and has one of the best attacks in Europe with Haaland, İlkay Gundogan, Bernardo Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, Joao Cancelo, Julian Alvarez and Phil Foden all scoring goals. They were impressive in the summer transfer window, adding probably the best European striker to their squad in Haaland, and we expect them to retain the domestic title.
They are superb going forward and we will continue to include them in our soccer picks and parlays. They will be without Jack Grealish, Kalvin Philips, Nathan Ake, Aymeric Laporte, Benjamin Mendy and Luke Mbete, but that’s not a big issue because they have an amazing first squad and bench.
Aston Villa vs Man City Head-to-Head
Man City has won their last nine mutual encounters against Aston Villa, including last season’s double win. They scored at least twice on each occasion and they covered the spread in five on them. Aston Villa managed to contribute on the scoresheet in five of the last six head-to-heads against Man City. The Citizens were the best EPL side on the road last season, losing one and winning 14 in 19 games, scoring 41 goals in the process. Aston Vila won just six in 19 home games allowing 29 goals.

Aston Villa vs Man City Predictions
Despite playing on the road, the Citizens enter this clash as heavy favorites being priced at -275 on the three-way moneyline according to the latest soccer odds while the goal line is set at three.
Manchester City must play a full match from start to finish, which means pouring on the attack. They’ve had plenty of chances this season and, as one of the top teams in the EPL, they’ll continue to have those looks. They can easily cover the goal line on their own so we will take that with a small stake at +140 but for our official pick, we are backing City to cover the spread.
