Austin FC was founded in 2018 but didn’t start playing in MLS until the 2021 season. Even so, they’re already fighting at the top of the Western Conference. In fact, defeating the New York Red Bulls on Sunday could boost them up to the first place.
Speaking of the Red Bulls, they’re third in the Eastern Conference, only six points behind the team atop the standings, the Philadelphia Union. Curiously enough, the Red Bulls have won most of their points on the road, which makes them a tempting underdog to include in your soccer picks.
Austin FC = Scoring Machine
No other team in the league has scored more goals than Austin FC with 42. The Green Machine averages two goals per game.
Most recently, they drew 1-1 to FC Dallas, not bad considering it was on the road and they had to come from behind. Coming back allowed them to extend their unbeaten run to a club-record seven games.
