Bayern Munich vs Borussia Monchengladbach 2022 Bundesliga Fixture 18
I don’t know about you, but I did miss the Bundesliga. It was a short break but watching Robert Lewandowski doing the impossible is always fun.
Fortunately, for all soccer betting enthusiasts who also missed it, Germany’s top division returns this weekend with a bang, Bayern Munich will play host to Borussia Monchengladbach. That’s one of three teams that didn’t lose against the reigning champions in the first half of the season.

Bayern Munich’s Comfortable Advantage
Bayern Munich has always been the betting online favorite to win the title, but now it is clearer than water. The reigning champions are currently offering a -5000 price due to their nine-point advantage over second place.
Prior to the break, Bayern won five games in a row, including a huge 3-2 victory over Borussia Dortmund. Most recently, they crushed Wolfsburg 4-0 with goals from Thomas Muller, Dayot Upamecano, Leroy Sane, and Lewandowski.
Just to give a pretty good idea, Lewandowski (19) has scored more goals than five teams have scored in total. Can you believe that France Football thought that and other accomplishments weren’t enough to win the Ballon d’Or? Come on!
Overall, Bayern is a scoring machine, but we’re also talking about a good defensive team. They’ve allowed only 16 goals in 17 games.
Head coach Julian Nagelsmann will have to make some changes due to COVID-19, injuries, and the African Cup. Manuel Neuer, Dayot Upamecano, Leroy Sane, Lucas Hernandez, Eric-Maxim Choupo Moting, and Tanguy Nianzou are out. That’s why Bayern opened at -450 but now is offering a -345 price. Yes, those players will be missed, but Bayern still deserves to be the favorite.
The good news is that Joshua Kimmich and Lucas Goretzka will be back.
Bayern Munich predicted lineup: Sven Ulreich; Benjamin Pavard, Niklas Sule, Marc Roca, Alphonso Davies; Jamal Musiala, Marcel Sabitzer, Serge Gnabry, Thomas Muller, Malik Tillman; Robert Lewandowski.
Borussia Monchengladbach Can’t Lose
Borussia Monchengladbach started the first half of the season on the right foot but finished it on the wrong one.
Unlike Bayern, they didn’t win any of their last five games. Most recently, their best result was a draw (1-1) against Hoffenheim, the team sitting in fifth place. Prior to that, they lost four games in a row, allowing three goals or more in each one.
Monchengladbach is one defeat away from falling into the relegation zone. If they lose, and Stuttgart beats Greuther Furth, very likely, and Augsburg doesn’t lose to Hoffenheim, that will happen. Nobody wants to be in the relegation zone, not even for a week.
The visitors will also have several players out due to COVID-19. The list includes Denis Zakaria, Joe Scally, Mamadou Doucoure, and Keanan Bennetts.
Unfortunately, Jonas Hofmann, the team’s top scorer with seven goals, isn’t ready either. He suffered a knee injury that needed surgery. He’s already running, but still must avoid full contact. The good news is that Jordan Beyer and Marcus Thuram will be back.
“We are heading there as the underdogs, but we still need to play with courage and confidence. Bayern is very strong, but they do allow their opponents chances, which we want to take advantage of,” said head coach Adi Hutter in an interview.
Borussia Monchengladbach predicted lineup: Yann Sommer; Stefan Lainer, Matthias Ginter, Rami Bensebaini, Jordan Beyer; Christoph Kramer, Florian Neuhaus, Patrick Hermann, Marcus Thuram, Lars Stindl; Alassane Plea.

Bayern Munich vs Borussia Monchengladbach Prediction
The first game after a break, even a short one, is always tricky. Especially when you’ve to deal with a lot of absences. That’s why having a depth, talented roster is so important. Between these two, Bayern Munich is the one with talent to spare. Nevertheless, I think it’s going to be a close one, enough to include the visitors in your online gambling ticket.
