Bayern Munich and Inter Milan know what comes next for them in the Champions League as both sides have qualified for the knockout stage. Before games start on Tuesday, the standings in Group C are already decided, giving very little for each team to play for. Bayern will top the group and Inter will come in second no matter what happens. This game is essentially for pride as Bayern could go for all 18 points while Inter will try to be competitive with one of the best teams in Europe.
Bayern Munich: Pure Dominance
Bayern Munich has always been a force to be reckoned with, which happens every season. They have already secured the top spot in the group, winning all five games played by a goal differential of 14.
They have looked unstoppable, scoring 3.2 goals per game, the second-best in the tournament while allowing just 0.4. Bayern looks primed once again to make another deep run in the Champions League – and maybe win it all again after doing so in 2020.
They seemed to have not missed a step with Robert Lewandowski leaving over the summer – not replacing his production directly but having other players step up. The big signing was Sadio Mané, who has three goals in the Champions League, while Leroy Sané, who has struggled in the past at Bayern, has four. Jamal Musiala, at age 19, has also become a rising star. While not scoring in the Champions League, he has nine with seven assists on the season.
Group C looked as if it could be a tough group, featuring Barcelona and Inter, but Bayern has asserted themselves by winning the three games against those two clubs by an aggregate score of 7-0.
Inter Milan: Enough Done
Inter was one of three European giants in their group along with Bayern and Barcelona. They played well enough to move on to the knockout stages, doing enough in the games they had too, despite falling behind in domestic play.
The crucial matches in Group C were between Inter and Barcelona, as it was clear that Bayern would top the group. In the first match, Inter won at home with a stunning goal from Hakan Çalhanoğlu. An incredible 3-3 draw at Camp Nou effectively sealed both teams’ fates, with Inter moving on and Barcelona heading to the Europa League.
Before the win over Barcelona, Inter was actually in bad form, having lost four of their last six games. They had been playing top teams like Bayern as well as AC Milan and AS Roma in the Serie A, underperforming against those clubs. Since then, they have been on a six-game unbeaten streak, winning five, with the advantage of playing easier opponents.
Bayern vs Inter Head-to-Head
Bayern and Inter have played in the Champions League a few times, including the Finals in 2010, where Inter won 2-0. They were drawn in the same group in 2006 where Bayern won one match and the second was a draw. In 2011, they met in the Round of 16. Bayern won the first leg but lost the second as Inter eliminated them from the tournament on the away goal rule.

Bayern vs Inter Prediction
It almost seems impossible to bet against Bayern Munich at this point. The team is so good and they are in great form. Inter is also playing well, but Bayern still have something to play for. They could end the group with all six wins, which only one other team this season has a chance of doing.
Even if Bayern did not have that extra something to play for, their team is just so dominant and are on a mission to win the whole thing. This is just another match on the path to that.
Score Prediction: Bayern 2, Inter 0
