To Win the Champions League Trophy

After the draw for the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, we now bring you the latest betting odds and soccer picks and parlays for the winners of the competition. The current favorites to lift the UCL trophy as we enter the knockout round is Manchester City. The Citizens came very close to securing their first-ever Champions League crown last season, ultimately falling against Chelsea.

The Citizens dropped points to both Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig in group competition, but ended top of their group by being one of the most consistent teams in the European top five league. They’ve been dominating their domestic league like no others, sitting nine points clear at the top of the table after 23 games played.

They are priced at +275 to lift the Champions League trophy, according to the latest soccer odds. They will play Sporting in the Round of 16. They will also probably qualify further with two wins, but still there’s no value betting on them to win it all. Why? Bayern Munich, Liverpool, PSG and even Chelsea are left in the competition, so that’s why.

Bayern Munich’s odds to win the Champions League are second-lowest at +350, The Bavarians were in ruthless form in the groups, winning all six of their matches and scoring 22 goals in the process. With a full squad at their disposal Bayern Munich, who won the trophy in 2020, are a tough out. Liverpool, meanwhile, looked very strong in the groups. They claimed all 18 points with Robert Lewandowski their top scorer and Thomas Muller serving him in every game.

It will be very interesting to see who will win the doubleheader between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, because that team’s odds will surely drop (provided same team wins both games). If you’re betting on either of those teams to win it all, the odds are going to be affected.. Man City are favorite, but they always have problems in the final portions of the competitions. Given that, we’re going with a team that knows how to go all the way.

Top Goalscorer

Last season, Dortmund’s star striker Erling Haaland was top scorer with 10 goals, and that tally has already been reached this season. Ajax kicked off their Champions League campaign in brilliant fashion with six wins out of six, and striker Sebastien Haller is enjoying his best season being the top scorer in the competition with ten goals.

Then, there’s the one and only Robert Lewandowski, with nine goals and Mo Salah with seven. Considering that the two finalists have eight more games to play, and because we are going with Bayern Munich to lift the trophy, the logical pick for this market is Lewandowski. Hopefully, he won’t get injured as he did last season. The Polish striker already has those nine goals in the tournament and, at the age of 34, his constant prowess inside the box shows isn’t slowing down. Bayern are expected to comfortably qualify against knockout-debutantes RB Salzburg.

If you’re betting online on the German Bundesliga, but also on the Champions League, the combo Bayern to win and Lewandowski to score is paying 80% of the time.

To Reach the Final

Real Madrid’s odds of winning the Champions League under manager Carlo Ancelotti are at +1600, and they’re the most successful team in the history of the competition. A heavyweight battle against Paris Saint-Germain awaits Los Blancos, but their prestige and pedigree in the UCL should prevail against a struggling PSG side.

Vinicius Junior’s breakout has been the story of the season. Added to Eder Militao’s consistency and David Alaba’s immediate impact, combined with Karim Benzema’s super season and Thibaut Courtois’s wall and you can see why Real Madrid are one of the best teams in Europe. It is realistic to expect Real to beat PSG over two legs, then get past whatever opponent awaits in the quarterfinals. With a bit of luck in the quarterfinal draw, they could easily go the distance. Real Madrid are priced at +700 to reach the finals and we’ll have a piece of that.
