The club is sitting sixth in the standings on 61 points and can no longer be caught by eighth-placed Tottenham, meaning it is guaranteed a spot in Europe next season, either in the Europa League or the Europa Conference League. It will play in UEL if it finishes fifth or sixth, while seventh place would see it enter the Conference League.

Roberto De Zerbi’s team needs just one point from their final two matches, at home against Manchester City on Thursday and then away at Aston Villa next Sunday, to be sure of sixth place. Villa is the only team who can overtake Brighton, but Unai Emery’s side would require a 16-goal swing in the remaining fixtures.

Brighton is enjoying a season to remember but is seen as the underdog in the midweek clash. If you’re betting online, you should expect a high-scoring affair. Adam Lallana, Tariq Lamptey, Solly March, Robert Sanchez, and Jeremy Sarmiento are sidelined with injuries, while Adam Webster is a major doubt.

Man City: Premier League Champions

City claimed a 1-0 win over Chelsea last time out, and boss Pep Guardiola made several changes to his team, handing starts to younger players like Cole Palmer, Rico Lewis, and Sergio Gomez, as well as a few fringe men.

Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne made a late substitute appearance, while Jack Grealish and Bernardo Silva remained on the bench. The Catalan coach is likely to adopt the same approach at Brighton to ensure his star men are fresh for their two finals next month.

Man City won the Premier League for the third season running, and is on course for a treble, with the Champions League final against Inter Milan scheduled for June 10 and FA Cup final against Man United on June 3. We expect it to finish the season in style, so we will continue to include it in our Premier League picks and parlays.

The experimental system Pep Guardiola adopted with midfielders filling in as full-backs, full-backs acting as wingers, and centre-backs pushing into midfield, looked shaky at first, but it didn’t take long for Pep’s juggernauts to find their groove. Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne, Erling Haaland, and John Stones are pushing for a start, while Nathan Ake remains on the sidelines with a muscle problem.
