Chelsea Looks to Stay in Race

English Premier League Round 28 Parlay

Chelsea travels to play relegation-threatened Burnley on Saturday while Leicester will be looking to build on their form in midweek, getting a goal each from James Maddison and Jamie Vardy to defeat Burnley. Our sportsbook is offering a great price for this English Premier League parlay.

Burnley vs Chelsea Betting Analysis

Chelsea hasn’t played too much in the domestic league recently, with just one game during the last month due to other commitments, including the EFL Cup final and Club World Cup. But two weeks on from their last top-flight league clash, a 1-0 victory at Crystal Palace, the Blues are back and will be looking to regain some control on their season and maintain the pressure on the top spots.

Despite playing on the road, they enter this clash as heavy favorites at -200 on the three-way moneyline according to the latest soccer odds. Chelsea has won five of their last seven encounters with Burnley and hasn’t lost against Saturday’s hosts since 2017. Of Chelsea’s last five wins against Burnley, four have produced clean sheets, showing once again how good they are at the back.

Chelsea is just three points clear of fourth-placed Manchester United and is under pressure after  having previously looked comfortable in their position. However, Chelsea has won their past two EPL games, against Tottenham and Crystal Palace, and do have two games in hand on the Red Devils to open up some space.

The Blues escaped a FA Cup humiliation by coming back from behind to win against Luton with Romelu Lukaku scoring a late winner. The fans will be hoping he can make it two in two, and the Belgian star striker does have an impressive record against Burnley, scoring or assisting in all four of his Premier League away games against the Clarets. Ben Chilwell missed the EFL Cup defeat to Liverpool with injury, and he remains in the recovery room, being Thomas Tuchel’s only worry.

On the other side, Burnley aims to escape the relegation zone and has been showing signs of improvement of late. Sean Dyche’s men currently sit third to last and are one point away from safety. They went down to a disappointing midweek 2-0 defeat to Leicester City at Turf Moor for only their second defeat in eight matches, with the other one coming against Liverpool.

They’ve already claimed a point against Chelsea, keeping the Blues to a 1-1 draw in the reverse match, but they haven’t beaten Chelsea at Turf Moor since 1983. Seven of Burnley’s last eight games have finished under 2½ goals and so have Chelsea’s last four games. This could well be another cagey game. We don’t expect the hosts to find the back of the net so we’re including Chelsea -1 in our soccer picks and parlays.

Pick: Chelsea -1 (-115)

Leicester vs Leeds

Leeds announced on Saturday that Marcelo Bielsa had parted ways with the club after their 4-0 defeat to Tottenham at Elland Road earlier that day. Leeds has managed just five wins and has 13 losses. The team recorded four heavy defeats in a row in February, losing 3-0 at Everton, 4-2 to Manchester United, 6-0 on the road to Liverpool and 4-0 to Tottenham.

Leeds’ defense struggled last season, too, but Bielsa failed to deal with their frailties at the back this term. The worst defensive side in the league, they conceded 17 goals in the last four fixtures and a total of 60 goals in 26 games. Numerous injuries to their key players have taken their toll on Leeds, with Patrick Bamford and Kalvin Phillips having featured in just six and 12 Premier League games, respectively.

They signed former American international midfielder Jesse Marsch, who has been out of work since December when he was sacked by RB Leipzig only five months after he was appointed. Before that, he had led Leipzig’s sister club, Red Bull Salzburg, to back-to-back domestic doubles in the Austrian top-flight league. He definitely needs time to implement his own style and Leicester’s clash is coming too soon for him.

Leicester dented Burnley’s bid to avoid relegation from the Premier League as Vardy returned from injury to inspire a 2-0 win at Turf Moor on Tuesday. He’s a real catalyst. He makes runs and presses and is normally in the right areas to score. To have that quality and mentality back will help Leicester improve and climb the standings. If you’re betting online you should understand how important and influential some players are for their teams. In this case, Vardy is the real deal. Not only he is scoring goals, but he’s always trying to talk to his teammates and find the best approach.

Pick: Leicester -125
