Columbus Crew on the Verge of a Crisis
After a promising start, the Columbus Crew fell to seventh place in the Eastern Conference thanks to two straight losses. The season is young, but a third straight loss would be a low blow for the team’s confidence.
On the other hand, Orlando City is sitting in second place. The Lions remain unbeaten when playing on the road, making them a very tempting online gambling underdog. Especially at +335.
Columbus Crew Offense Needs to Wake Up
In its first four games, Columbus Crew scored 10 goals. Overall, only CF Montreal has scored more goals in the Eastern Conference with 11.
The problem is that Columbus’ attacking unit couldn’t keep up. The team lost its last two games 1-0 in spite of taking more shots than its opponent. If that wasn’t enough – Nashville SC defeated them at Lower.com Field.
It’s time for head coach Caleb Porter to stop messing around with the starting lineup. Last week, Gyasi Zardes and Luis Diaz were benched. We’re talking about two of the best companions for Luis Zelarayan, the team’s top scorer with four goals. The Crew isn’t playing the CONCACAF Champions League or anything like it. There’s no need for rotations.
No matter the recent results, Columbus deserves to control the soccer lines at -130. The Black and Gold won eight of their last 10 home games. They outscored their opponents 23-10 and finished with a clean sheet three times.
Finally, there are no major injuries to report.
Orlando City Seeking Balance
As mentioned before, Orlando City remains unbeaten when playing on the road. The Lions are 1-2-0. Their lone victory was against Los Angeles Galaxy, the only team capable of defeating Los Angeles FC.
Orlando played host to the Chicago Fire and won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Ercan Kara. The Lions finished with 21 shots, six on target, and won possession with 62 percent. Chicago never stood a chance.
Besides Kara, Facundo Torres and Alexandre Pato have had a great start to the season. Last season, Pato didn’t play much due to injury. Now, the veteran is trying to win a spot on the team that will represent Brazil in Qatar 2022.
The Lions are accustomed to being the betting online underdog when playing on the road and they haven’t controlled the odds board in any game when playing on the road. A $100 bet on them will return $435.
There are no major injuries to report.

Columbus Crew vs Orlando City Prediction
The odds are on Columbus’ side, along with confidence and momentum. The home side attacking unit will wake up, especially if Zardes returns to the starting lineup, however, it won’t be enough, as the visitors’ unit will do its part as well. The Lions won’t pull off the upset but will remain unbeaten on the road. For today’s soccer predictions we are calling for a draw in which both will score.
Score Prediction: Columbus Crew 1, Orlando City 1
