Dortmund and RB Leipzig Determined to Strike Back

Beaten by Paris Saint-Germain, RB Leipzig host bottom of the table Greuther Furth while Dortmund will try to close the gap on leaders Bayern Munich when they travel to play Arminia Bielefeld. Our sportsbook is offering the best odds for the German Bundesliga.

Arminia Bielefeld vs. Dortmund

We said it so many times, Dortmund are poor at the back, and everyone can score against them. But we didn’t expect them to be destroyed by Ajax in the Champions League Matchday 3. They lost 4-0 but they weren’t that bad. Some sloppy defensive errors, poor use of wide areas, and lack of support in front of the net made them look like a small team. Erling Haaland was solid-ish but he failed to find the back of the net missing some great opportunities.

They still have many players who are struggling with injuries mostly at the back and the defeat to Ajax exposed all squad issues. This was a tough lesson for BVB but at the same time a healthy one. Next on their list is Arminia Bielefeld, the perfect opponent for Dortmund to bounce back and redeem themselves.

Marco Rose declared it was a well-deserved loss and that we will see another Dortmund this weekend in the Bundesliga. They still have the second-best attack in their domestic league, they are still playing a free-flowing and fast soccer so there’s nothing to be worried about. They are huge favorites to win this clash being priced at -260 on the three-way Money Line with the best Bundesliga odds.

On the other side, Arminia Bielefeld have not registered a victory this season in the German top-flight league sitting 17th in the standings with just five points earned in eight games. On top of that, they have the joint-worst attack in the league with just four goals scored this term, failing to find the back of the net on four occasions.

Last season, Dortmund won both head-to-heads against Armenia, covering the -1½ spread in both games, netting 2+ goals in each match and keeping two clean sheets. That’s why this is the perfect chance for Dortmund to forget about the heavy midweek defeat in UCL and give their fans something to cheer for. We expect them to easily cover the -1½ spread.

Pick: Dortmund -1½ at -105

RB Leipzig vs. Greuther Furth

Newly promoted and bottom of the table Greuther Furth are on our fade list for this Bundesliga season. On the same list, we have Arminia and Bochum with the three teams expected to get relegated at the end of the season.

Furth are one of the two teams together with Arminia without a win this season. Not just that but they lost seven of their eight games conceding 20 goals in the process (second-worst defense in the league). They lost by 2+ goals in five games and by 3+ goals in two fixtures with the two heavy defeats being on the road to Mainz and Stuttgart.

Last weekend they played their direct relegation opponents Bochum and as expected they failed once again to find the back of the net, not being able to bring balls inside the opposition’s box. They will now face one of the top German teams, RB Leipzig and they are priced at +2100 with the latest soccer odds, the worst price we’ve seen in Bundesliga this season. Imagine their odds on the three-way Money Line when they play Bayern Munich on the road in the second half of the season.

On the other side, RB Leipzig are still trying to find their form and their style under their new manager Jesse Marsch and after losing three of their main players in the summer transfer window. They are dead last in the Champions League group stages with three defeats in three games and domestically they are eight points behind leaders Bayern Munich, sitting ninth in the standings.

They are better than that, they just three-four wins in a row which will improve them mentally and boost their confidence levels. We expect more from their striker Andre Silva as he scored just two Bundesliga goals. Like Dortmund, this is the perfect match for them to show their firepower against a team that has nothing to do with the top-flight league

Pick: RB Leipzig -2½ at +115
