  • Location: MHPArena, Stuttgart, Germany

Slovenia and Denmark are no strangers to each other, having been paired together in Euro 2024 qualifying rounds. The pair finished the campaign on 22 points each, with Denmark taking the top spot courtesy of a 2-1 win over the Slovenians to settle matters via their head-to-head record.

Slovenia has a fit squad eager to go with 36-year-old Josip Ilicic looking for his first start since 2021. The Danes also have a clean bill of health as Andres Christensen and Benfica’s Alexander Bah have recovered from injuries in time for the tournament.

Denmark has an excellent record vs. Slovenia and they can get their Euro 2024 campaign off to the perfect start. They are favorites at -136 betting odds to win the match. You can watch the game on FOX or stream it on FuboTV on Sunday, June 16 at 12 p.m. ET.

Slovenia vs Denmark Betting Tips

  • Denmark has scored 26 goals in 14 matches in the past two years, and Slovenia has conceded 13 goals in 15 matches.
  • Slovenia has scored 28 goals in the past two years, 1.9 per match. Denmark has conceded 12 goals.
  • The two teams have faced each other six times. Denmark has been the dominant side with five wins and one draw.
  • They last met in the Euro 2024 qualifiers, with a home win for Denmark and the reverse fixture ending in a draw.
  • Four of the six meetings between the two teams have produced at least three goals.
  • After keeping clean sheets in their first three meetings against Slovenia, Denmark has conceded one goal apiece in their last three meetings.

Don’t Overthink It! Bet on Denmark to Cruise Past Slovenia

The Danes have lost one of their last 12 outings, but Slovenia heads to Germany in good shape, too, having lost just one of their last 10.

Nerves often play a part in the early exchanges of tournaments. Still, Denmark has great experience in major finals, so my prediction is for them to overcome their inexperienced opponents, who are appearing at their first Euros in 24 years and just their second overall.

I will include Denmark in my soccer picks this week -136 odds.

Final Picks: Over 2.5 Goals & Benjamin Sesko to Score

It was 2-1 to Denmark the last time these two locked horns and I predict a similar scoreline in Stuttgart on Sunday.

Slovenia has scored in their last 12 matches while Denmark has kept a clean sheet in only one of their last six. Slovenia should be able to find a way through but whether they can spring a shock result remains to be seen.

They do, however, possess a top striker in the form of RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko. He scored five goals in nine qualifying matches and I expect him to shine again. If you are looking for a good soccer player prop, bet on Sesko to score at +400 odds. I expect at least three goals to be scored between the two attacking sides so I will also bet the over.

Question of the Day

Who could score for Denmark against Slovenia?

Denmark’s Rasmus Hojlund scored against Slovenia during the qualifying campaign, to contribute to a fine total of seven goals from his eight qualifying matches. I expect him to deliver once again.
