We’ve plenty of Premier League picks and predictions for you to consider.
Everton: Another Difficult Season
The Toffees finished 16th in the Premier League table last season, just four points above the relegation zone, and faced the serious prospect of dropping out of England’s top flight. Everton flirted with relegation and it wasn’t until their penultimate game of the campaign that their safety was secured. Only Watford and Norwich City, who finished 19th and 20th, respectively, lost more Premier League games than Everton last term. The Merseyside giants suffered 21 defeats from their 38 matches, which is way too much for a team of this caliber.
Frank Lampard was appointed head coach of Everton at the end of January, and he took charge of 21 matches in the second half of last season, boasting a record of eight wins, two draws and 11 defeats. The 44-year-old’s credentials continue to be called into question and he is the favorite to be the first managed sacked this season.
Richarlison was Everton’s star player last season, finishing the campaign with 11 goals and five assists in 33 appearances, but he has joined Tottenham Hotspur in a big-money deal this summer. Everton has managed to boost their squad this summer with the arrivals of James Tarkowski, Dwight McNeil and Ruben Vinagre, three players that should certainly help them this season. If you’re betting online, they are still a team to fade. Salomon Rondon is banned for the match, while Andros Townsend misses out with a knee problem.
Chelsea: New Beginnings
It has been a strange summer at Stamford Bridge. Roman Abramovich is gone and Chelsea’s new owners have not had much time to get up to speed with English football requirements. Yet the situation is far from disastrous. Raheem Sterling, who should make Thomas Tuchel’s attack far more incisive, is a solid buy and Kalidou Koulibaly is an important signing in defense following the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.
The spending won’t stop there, with Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong the latest to be linked with Stamford Bridge, but Tuchel still has enough talent in his squad to expect three points from their Premier League opener. Tuchel has issues in central midfield. N’Golo Kante cannot stay fit for an entire season and Jorginho lacks mobility. Chelsea could be short of reliable goalscorers. Kai Havertz, expected to continue as the false nine, needs to become reliable. We must think twice before backing Chelsea, but they are way better than Everton so we will include them in our soccer picks and parlays.
What the Blues still haven’t done is sign a center forward to fill in the gap left by Romelu Lukaku. They need a striker desperately as Timo Werner has decided to move away from Stamford Bridge by the end of summer. What all this means is that Chelsea is practical without a proper striker.
Everton vs Chelsea Head-to-Head
Everton has been a bogey team for Chelsea in recent seasons and the Blues have beaten them just twice in the last nine meetings. Despite having a nightmare campaign, the Toffees were unbeaten in this fixture last term, winning 1-0 at Goodison after a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge. Each of the last four meetings between Everton and Chelsea has been tight and tense, producing under 2½ goals on each occasion.

Everton vs Chelsea Predictions
The visitors enter this clash as favorites being priced at -160 on the three-way moneyline according to the latest soccer odds while the goal line is set at 2½.
Everton narrowly avoided relegation last season and Lampard will want to avoid any kind of relegation battle this time around. Chelsea has by far the stronger of the two squads and a lot fewer injuries with which to deal and that should put them on track to victory. Everton may have to play Dele Alli up front if Calvert-Lewin fails to recover from an injury he picked up in training. The other option up front, Rondon, is suspended.
This is going to be one very difficult game, but we believe Chelsea will get a win eventually. We expect another low-scoring affair between the two sides and for better odds, we will combine the moneyline with the goals market.
