Fulham: Superb Run of Form

Fulham fans are proud to say that their beloved team is sitting higher in the English football standings than Chelsea. Since returning from the World Cup break, Crystal Palace, Southampton, and Leicester City have all fallen to Fulham’s superiority in the Premier League.

Fulham prepares for a difficult schedule versus Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Tottenham before making the journey to Stamford Bridge for another meeting with the Blues in early February. Despite posting just two home defeats during this campaign so far, Fulham has hardly defined consistency at Craven Cottage, but if you’re betting online, you should expect them to find the back of the net on Thursday.

Marco Silva’s side has been the season’s surprise package and sits in seventh place, three places and three points above Chelsea. They will be without star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic with the big Serb suspended after picking up too many yellow cards. However, Silva has no other fresh concerns to work around for Thursday’s derby, where Neeskens Kebano will remain out with his Achilles injury, but Shane Duffy will hope to return following an illness. Carlos Vinicius is likely to lead the line for Fulham. The former Spurs striker has yet to score this season but has mainly come off the bench.

Chelsea: Graham Potter Under Pressure

Graham Potter’s side enters this clash three places and three points behind Fulham, which has played one match more than its sinking opponents. Chelsea’s form may need more time before seeing more points on the board, especially against a side capable of scoring many goals.

There is obviously no immediate danger of under-pressure Graham Potter getting the boot, but while the Englishman’s project is still at the beginning, the fans made their feelings clear during their FA Cup elimination at the hands of the Citizens. With an abysmal five defeats on their record from their last seven competitive games in all competitions, there’s no way we will include them in our soccer picks and parlays.

Mason Mount returned from injury to face Man City, but Chelsea lost Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to a back injury in the build-up to that game, leaving the Blues with ten injured first-teamers. Alongside Aubameyang, Chelsea has lost Raheem Sterling, Christian Pulisic, Edouard Mendy, N’Golo Kante, Reece James, Ben Chilwell, Wesley Fofana, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Armando Broja.

Fulham vs Chelsea Head-to-Head

The Cottagers have won four in a row since returning from the World Cup break, conceding just one goal in the process. Chelsea won just one of their previous seven domestic games.

The Cottagers are flying high right now, but their recent victories have all been against bottom-half sides. Chelsea has lost four of their last six matches in all competitions, with two of those being against Manchester City. The Blues allowed at least one goal in 11 of their previous 12 games across all competitions.

Fulham vs Chelsea Picks & Prediction

Despite being on the road, the visitors enter this clash as favorites priced at +115 on the three-way moneyline according to the latest soccer odds, while the goal line is set at 2½.

The inexperienced nature of Chelsea’s defensive line at the Etihad must be taken into account here. Potter’s biggest problem has been a lack of firepower, and injuries limit his attack options. Even with its plethora of injury and confidence problems, we expect Chelsea to find the back of the net, but we also expect them to concede at least one goal.

The Fulham are listed at +245 in our Vegas Soccer lines. This means that if you wager $100 on Fulham, you have a chance to win $245. The Chelsea is +115, offering a chance to win $115 on a $100 wager.

The implied probability attached to the betting lines gives Fulham a 28.99% chance to win, with Chelsea at 46.51%.
