Go Ahead and Bet on Inter Miami, Even Without Lionel Messi
Unless you’ve been living under a rock over the last month and a half, you should know that Lionel Messi and Inter Miami are on fire. Despite being 14th in the Eastern Conference, the team is among the favorites in our MLS odds to win the title at +600.
Miami is also the favorite to defeat Sporting Kansas City in their first meeting ever, despite Messi and eight other players not being available due to the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.
Inter Miami Winless Without Messi
Messi made his debut on July 21. Since then, Inter Miami hasn’t lost a single match. However, if we remove Messi from the equation, Miami is winless in 11 straight regular season matches. Their last league victory without Messi was in May. No wonder they’re in 14th place.
Besides Messi, Inter Miami won’t be able to count on Edison Azcona, Drake Callender, Benjamin Cremaschi, Diego Gomez, Sergii Kryvtsov, Josef Martinez, David Ruiz, and Robert Taylor.
The good news is that other players such as Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets,Facundo Farias, Leonardo Campana, DeAndre Yedlin and Kamal Miller will be available.
Like Messi, Alba and Busquets are certified, experienced winners. Farias is highly motivated after scoring against Los Angeles FC, while Messi and Campana are the only players who have scored a brace during a match. The team is in good hands.
That’s why I believe Miami deserves to be favorite in our MLS lines at +110.
Sporting KC on Decent Run
Sporting KC is 11th in the Western Conference. Nevertheless, they’ve only lost four of their last 17 regular season games.
Most recently, they defeated St. Louis City SC 2-1, with Alan Pulido as Player of the Match thanks to scoring a brace. Pulido will be available for Saturday’s match. In fact, only Gadi Kinda and Marinos Tzionis will miss the game.
The fact that pretty much the entire roster will be available makes Sporting KC a tempting soccer betting pick, especially at +220.
“For us, it truly doesn’t matter who’s playing, because they’ve a very good roster. Nothing has changed for us, we’re going with the mentality of doing our job, knowing we must be extremely focused because we’re facing a great team,” said head coach Peter Vermes during a press conference.
