Well, things have changed since the humble team from Madrid won its first two games and is one of the two teams that haven’t conceded a single goal. Even so, Los Franjirrojos come in as the betting online underdogs for Monday’s match against visiting Atletico Madrid.
Count on Rayo Vallecano to Score at Home
Rayo Vallecano started the season with a 2-0 victory over Almeria on the road. Isaac Palazon and Randy Nteka scored from the penalty spot. Almeria won possession and finished with more shots on goal, but Rayo’s defense was flawless.
Most recently, they also defeated Granada 2-0 on the road. No goals from the penalty spot this time. Alvaro Garcia scored the opener in the 75th minute and four minutes later, Pathe Ciss sealed the deal.

Atletico Madrid Way More Defensive on Road

Here’s another reason for Atletico Madrid to come in as the soccer betting favorites: Los Colchoneros won the last four times that these two met in Vallecas. Last season, they won 2-1 after scoring twice in a two-minute span. Plus, Rayo Vallecano played with 10 players for 30 minutes after Florian Lejeune was sent off.
Both scored in their last two meetings, but prior to that, only Los Colchoneros managed to score for six straight games. That’s why “both teams scoring in the match – no” is offering a -125 price in the sportsbook.
