Rennes vs Angers
Three weeks ago, Rennes were three minutes away from becoming only the second team to take points off PSG at the Parc des Princes this term, but got caught as they pushed forward and were punished by a quick counter-attack. They immediately bounced back by winning back-to-back games over Troyes and Montpellier, scoring four goals in each match and covering the spread on both occasions.
They enter this clash as heavy favorites at -225 on the three-way moneyline according to the latest soccer odds. They are sitting fourth in the standings with 43 points picked up in 26 games. At home, they are the second-best team in the domestic league (after Paris Saint-Germain) with nine wins and 31 goals scored in 13 home fixtures.

For the hosts, Lesley Ugochukwu is looking closer to a return from an ankle problem, as are Jeremy Doku from a hamstring issue and Flavien Tait from a groin strain. Rennes lost the reverse match 2-0 on the road but this time things look different. Anger enters this clash on the back of five Ligue 1 defeats in a row and eight in their previous 10 games across all competitions. They’ve failed to find the back of the net in four of their last seven fixtures. They’ve won just two of 13 away games while conceding 21 goals.
They are clearly a team to bet against. If you’re betting online, start fading them week in and week out. Given their brilliant run of form and their results in front of their fans, we expect a clear home win with Rennes having the necessary weapons to cover the spread for the third consecutive time.
Pick: Rennes -1 (-140)
Lens vs Brest
Lens is one of the most entertaining teams in the league. They are sitting just three points behind the European spots, having the fourth-best attack in Ligue 1 with 42 goals scored in 26 games. If we are talking only about their home games, they lost just two in 13 matches, netting 23 goals, but they’ve conceded the second-most goals by a team outside the bottom six.
Jonathan Gradit, Wesley Said and Corentin Jean are all injured and will not play against Brest on Saturday. Having narrowly missed out on European qualification last season, Lens are aiming to overcome that disappointment this time around, but they will need to find some consistency during the closing months. Jonathan Clauss continued his impressive campaign by getting on the scoreboard twice in the last two games. The right defender now has four goals and nine assists for the season.
They always suffer against Brest, winning just one of their previous three mutual encounters. On the other side, despite sitting 12th in the standings, Brest has nothing to lose in this clash. They have an attacking approach no matter their opponents and we expect them to find the back of the net. They won the reverse match, destroying Lens 4-0 on home soil.
Lens are (-135) favorites to win this clash but there’s more value elsewhere so we will not include them in our soccer picks and parlays. Instead, we’re going with the goals’ market as we expect a high-scoring affair between two teams with a positive football plan.
Pick: Over 2½ goals at -125
