Houston’s Rough Patch
If the MLS season ended today, the Houston Dynamo missed the playoffs for a fifth time in a row. They’re sitting in 11th place un the West, five points behind seventh, having losing their last two..
As for FC Dallas, the visitors are in fifth place. Not bad, but the Burn have gone four games without winning. In other words, it’s must-win on both sides, making Saturday’s game a must-watch for all soccer fans as well as betting enthusiasts.
Dynamo’s Been Home Bodies
Despite being in 11th place in the West, the Houston Dynamo comes in as the favorite at +145. Why? Because Paulo Nagamura’s team has been considerably better when playing at PNC Stadium.
They lost in their last home game to Charlotte FC, 2-1, but the home record is 4-3-3, while just 2-0-6 on the road. They losing to the Mint due to an own goal.
Also, the Orange Crush have only won one of their last six. That was at home, 2-0 against the Chicago Fire. Thorleifur Ulfarsson and Darwin Quintero were the scorers. Precisely, Quintero is the main reason to consider including them in your soccer picks. The Colombian is the team’s goal leader with seven. He and Sebastian Ferreira (6) have become a lethal duo.
Besides the better results, the Dynamo are a much more daring team at home, scoring in eight of their last 10 games in all the competitions. They finished with a clean sheet four times, three against MLS teams.
…and last, but not least, it;s the expected debut of Hector Herrera. He was signed by the Dynamo after spending the nine seasons in Europe, the last three for Atletico Madrid.
FC Dallas Needs Road Turnaround
As was previously mentioned, if the season did end today, FC Dallas would advance to the playoffs. However, if they don’t start winning on the road, that won’t be the case in a month, maybe less, so…
The Burn own a 2-4-3 record away from home (5-2-2 at home). They drew, 1-1, to Inter Miami at home. Their last road game was against Los Angeles FC, losing, 3-1.
Jesus Ferreira (10 goals) is not only the team leader, he’s also among the league leaders in scoring. He didn’t score against Inter Miami, though. Alan Velasco saved the day with his second free-kick goal of the season. In fact, Dallas has scored a league-high three free-kick goals this season. If they want to win, they must take advantage of that.
“There have been good moments throughout the last few matches, but we need to dominate certain areas of the game. Once we correct these aspects of the game, we will be able to control the outcome of the games,” coach Nico Estevez said.
He’s not wrong. That’s why the visitors are priced a +190.
