Inter Milan to Feast on Bologna
Serie A Leaders Aiming for Eighth Straight League Win
Inter Milan begins the second half of the Serie A season with a midweek trip to Bologna while Atalanta plays host to Torino while trying to bounce back from two winless games. Our sportsbook is offering great odds for the Italian top-flight league.
Bologna vs. Inter: Visitors on Hot Streak
After three defeats in a row, Bologna returned to winning ways by beating Sassuolo 3-0 in its last match of 2021 with Roberto Orsolini, Aaron Hickey and Federico Santander contributing on the scoreboard. One area that could use some improvement in the new year is Bologna’s home form. They have struggled on home soil this term and enter this clash as huge underdogs at +525 on the three-way moneyline according to the latest soccer odds.

The Omicron variant of the virus has forced all European leagues to re-introduce restrictions to attempt to slow the spread of the contagion, and a long list of footballers in Italy are out after contracting the virus. Aaron Hickey, Marco Molla, Nicolas Viola and Nicolas Dominguez are out for the hosts while Inter will be without Edin Dzeko.
Inter Milan practically owned the first half of the season, finishing first with just one defeat in 19 games and winning 14 games in the process. They also have the best attack in the league with 49 goals scored. In the reverse match, they destroyed Bologna 6-1 on home soil and we expect them to put on another great performance and extend their amazing run of form.
Denzel Dumfries’ winner against Torino made it seven wins in a row to keep Inter four points clear of AC Milan. Simone Inzaghi has done well, especially after losing Romelu Lukaku and Hakimi last summer, and Inter looks even better this season. They are one of the most consistent teams in European soccer and we don’t understand why, but we are offered great prices for them to win their games. That’s why we recommend you include them to your soccer picks and parlays and take advantage of their great form.
The Nerazzurri are currently on a 10-match unbeaten run with nine wins. Home or away, the reigning champions always seem to get the results they want because the team is fully packed with world-class players and the balance inside the team is brilliant.
Pick: Inter -1 (-115)
Atalanta vs. Torino: High-Scoring Affair
Torino put up a strong challenge but could not find a way through against an Inter side that kept a sixth consecutive Serie A clean sheet. Their four-game unbeaten run came to an end, losing 1-0 in the last round of the year. They now travel to play Atalanta, which dropped five points in its last two games.
The visitors will be without four players infected with Covid. The names are not specified but we know they are first-teamers. On the other side, Atalanta has no covid issues and we expect them to start with their best starting XI. With just three defeats this season, Atalanta is sitting fourth in the standings with 38 points earned in 19 games. They are conceding many goals having the worst defense in the top six.
Atalanta won the reverse match 2-1 on the road and it has a good record against Torino, winning three of their previous four mutual encounters. We’ve seen at least three goals in the last five head-to-heads between the two sides and both teams scoring on four occasions.
The hosts will need to improve their home form as they have surprisingly fared better on their travels in the first half of the season. The visitors ended the year with just one defeat in their last five Serie A games and may have something to build on in 2022, but we still don’t trust them to pull off the upset on the road to Atalanta.
If you’re betting online, you should know that Atalanta is one of the most exciting teams to bet on in terms of goals, so once again, for our second pick of the parlay, we are going with the goals market.
