NYCFC Coming off Rare Loss
Inter Miami CF will look to extend their three-game unbeaten run with a positive result at DRV PNK Stadium. However, New York City FC is flying in the Eastern Conference right now and heading to Florida in fine form.
The Pigeons were beaten last time out, ending a seven-match undefeated run. Can Nick Cushing’s men get back to their winning ways in Miami or will Phil Neville’s Herons upset the reigning MLS champions?
Inter Miami on Unbeaten Run
Neville is having another tough time at Inter Miami this season. The Englishman has guided the Miami outfit to just eight wins, losing 10 and drawing six of the other 16. They languish in the ninth spot in the Eastern Conference table, collecting 30 points from 24 MLS matches.
Inter Miami has shown a slight improvement of late, though, winning one and drawing two since a 2-0 loss to New York City at Yankee Stadium in July. Miami beat the San Jose Earthquakes away from home and played to draws with Cincinnati and Montreal.
Despite their indifferent run of results this term, Inter Miami has managed to stay relatively solid at home, winning six of the last nine. During that run, only the Eastern Conference-leading Philadelphia Union left DRV PNK Stadium with all three points.
NYCFC Chasing First Place
New York City FC has had a successful season so far, racking up an impressive 42 points from 23 MLS fixtures. They find themselves sitting pretty in the second position in the Eastern Conference table, three points behind Philadelphia.
New York City fell to a rare defeat in their last one, losing a five-goal thriller to Columbus Crew. That ended a seven-game unbeaten streak and was their first loss since late June. Since kicking off the 2022 campaign with three defeats in five, New York has gone on to suffer just two MLS losses.
Before last weekend’s reverse in Ohio, New York City had won two and drawn two of their previous four away games. Cushing’s team is the favorite in this one, and the Boys in Blue will be desperate to get back to winning ways.
Inter Miami vs City Head-to-Head
These two met at Yankee Stadium a few weeks back, with New York City running out comfortable 2-0 winners. City beat Inter Miami twice in the 2021 season, scoring five goals and conceding one.
Overall, the pair have squared off five times since Inter Miami started playing in 2020, with New York City winning all five meetings.

Inter Miami vs NYCFC Prediction
Going by Inter Miami’s solid home form and New York City’s excellent away record, this is not an easy game to call.
Miami will be looking to make home advantage count, but I can see New York bouncing back from the loss at Columbus by claiming maximum points in Miami on Saturday.
