Three European giants, Juventus, Dortmund and Atletico Madrid, all travel to play Bologna, Hertha Berlin and Sevilla, respectively. Our sportsbook is offering huge odds for this longshot parlay.
Bologna vs. Juventus (Serie A Round 18)
Following two defeats in a row to Fiorentina and Torino, Bologna risks losing its third consecutive Serie A fixture for the first time since October 2020. As always, Bologna are enjoying their mid-table position and they will enter this clash having nothing to lose against a Juventus side that failed to win their third match in a row in a surprising 1-1 draw on the road at Venezia.
Bologna enters this clash as +315 underdogs on the three-way moneyline according to the latest soccer odds. Their record against Juventus is very poor, winning just one game in their 40 head-to-heads and losing their previous 11 mutual encounters. This is Juventus’ longest run against any side in Serie A’s history.
Massimiliano Allgeri’s team is 12 points behind leaders and reigning champs Inter Milan, as well as eight points behind the last Champions League spot occupied by Napoli. This is their worst season in the last eight as they dropped points in nine games, losing five times in 17 games.
Manuel Locatelli missed training due to illness in midweek, but should be ready for this clash while Danilo, Aaron Ramsey, Federico Chiesa and Paulo Dybala are out with injuries. Despite missing some of their important players from the attacking line, Juve’s attacking threat is the more heavyweight of the two. For our first pick of this weekend’s longshot, we are going with an away win.
Pick: Juventus -115
Hertha Berlin vs. Dortmund (Bundesliga Round 17)
Dortmund is already trailing leaders Bayern Munich by nine points, having no chance to compete with them for the Bundesliga title. But if they want to finish second, they shouldn’t drop points against relegation-threatened teams like Hertha Berlin. The visitors beat Greuther Furth in the midweek round, scoring three times but without impressing.
It’s true, they have had many injury issues, but little by little all the players are ready to get back in action. This is the final round of the year and Dortmund will try to finish it in style, but this is a difficult match on paper. Given their form and their squad problems, Dortmund shouldn’t be backed at this price on our soccer picks and parlays, but because they are by far the better team and Hertha is a team to fade, we are going with the visitors to return home with the three points.
Hertha has the third-worst attack in the league with just 17 goals scored this term and also the third-worst defense in Bundesliga with 33 goals allowed. They lost their previous five head-to-heads against Dortmund, and we expect them to extend this negative record with another defeat.
They were trashed by Mainz in the midweek round, conceding four goals and failing to find the back of the net. Actually, they recorded just one shot or target in the entire game. The price for an away win is not that great for a single bet, but is perfect for a parlay piece.
Pick: Dortmund -170
Sevilla vs. Atletico Madrid (La Liga Round 18)
Atletico Madrid is back in action with another crucial La Liga fixture this weekend, locking horns with second-place Sevilla. This is a must win for Diego Simeone and Co. as they are sitting fourth in the standings, 13 points behind leaders Real Madrid and five points behind Sevilla.
Despite trailing Real Madrid by so many points, their main objective remains defending their title, but for that to happen they must stop losing to small teams.
Your name is Atletico Madrid, and you are losing to Mallorca on home soil? Something must change and fast, because Atletico’s squad is very strong and must battle with Real Madrid for the title.
On the other hand, Sevilla will enter this clash in much higher spirits after back-to-back, short 1-0 victories over Villarreal and Athletic Bilbao. Unfortunately, they will be without Erik Lamela, Youssef En-Nesyri, Jesus Navas and Ocampos, probably their most important attacking players.
If you’re betting online, you should know that it’s all about value. When you have Sevilla missing their top striker and when you have Atletico Madrid priced at +180, you should take that. So, another away win for our third and final pick.
