Bank on it: Lazio Rock Solid at Home

Winless in their previous 14 Serie A games, Genoa travels to play Lazio, one of the best home teams in Serie A. Our sportsbook is offering a great number of props for Friday’s matchup.

Lazio: Out of Form

Serie A returns with a fresh set of games as Lazio opens the round on Friday by playing host to relegation-threatened Genoa. With three defeats in their previous five Serie A fixtures, Lazio dropped to ninth in the standings with 25 points earned in 17 games.

The hosts enter this clash as heavy favorites at -240 on the three-way moneyline with the latest soccer odds. Last weekend, the lack of focus in the final third cost them three points in the 2-1 away defeat to Sassuolo.

They failed to maintain the one-goal lead from half-time, allowing two goals in six minutes in the second half.

Lazio is rock solid on home soil, losing just once in eight games, winning five and scoring 22 goals. Lazio has an amazing home record against Genoa, winning its previous three Serie A games and scoring four goals in each game.

The hosts have always carried an extremely unstable face over the last few seasons and this term is no exception.

The performance that Lazio shows, in general, is not that consistent but they know how to beat weak opponents. They are underachievers and they need an urgent change because their main objective is to at least earn a Europa League position.

They are looking for a huge win to build some momentum and this is the perfect opportunity to add three points to their season tally and climb the standings.

They are not the best team to back on your soccer picks and parlays, but they have been formidable at home and, given their opponents, this should be an easy home win, so we are backing them to extend their dominance over Genoa.

Ciro Immobile has scored 16 times in 21 appearances for Lazio this season, including 13 goals in 15 Serie A fixtures. So if you love your props, go for Immobile to find the back of the net.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is back after having served a suspension against Sassuolo while Felipe Anderson could replace Pedro in the starting lineup.

Genoa: Fighting for Survival

The visitors are winless in their last 14 Serie A fixtures, losing seven in the process. They failed to find the back of the net in five of their previous seven domestic games. They are sitting 18th in the standings, and they have just a single win to their name during this season.

Only two other teams have conceded more goals than them with one of them being bottom-placed Salernitana.

They are also struggling with injuries being without four top players: Nicolo Rovella, Felipe Caicedo, Mohamed Fares and Nikola Maksimovic. They are the perfect team to fade if you’re betting online, mostly when they are playing against top teams.

They picked up just one point and scored just once in their last five Serie A games, conceding at least twice in five of their previous six games.

Given their form and injury issues, we are not expecting Genoa to be capable of making this a tricky match for Lazio, so we’re going to fade them.

We will sprinkle a small stake on Lazio to win Half-Time/Full-Time at +110, but for our main bet and banker of the weekend in European soccer, we’re going with the host to cover the spread.

Pick: Lazio -1½ goals (+125)
