Udinese have a trip to Rome on the cards to take on a reeling Lazio side on Thursday. Lazio were destroyed by Napoli over the weekend and desperately need to get back in the win column.
Despite two straight losses, Lazio are listed as -150 soccer betting favorites at the Stadio Olimpico.

Lazio vs Udinese Betting Preview
Head to Head
Lazio were on a seven-game winning streak versus Udinese until the COVID-impacted Serie A restarted in the Summer of 2020. These teams played in a scoreless draw in July.
Last season, the away team won both meetings. Udinese led 3-0 at the Stadio Olimpico before Ciro Immobile’s penalty got a goal back for Lazio. Adam Marusic scored the winner as the Bianocelesti eked out a 1-0 win in Udine.
Lazio Embarrassed by Napoli
Napoli demolished Lazio 4-0 last weekend, handing them their worst loss for over six years. That 2015 loss was coincidentally another 5-0 drubbing at the hands of Napoli. Current Lazio and former Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri was on the winning side in 2015 but certainly not this time around.
Lazio were down 3-0 at halftime thanks to a Piotr Zelinski goal and a Dries Mertens brace. Fabian Ruiz added the icing on the cake for Napoli with just over five minutes to play.
Eighth in Serie A, Lazio have faced two tests in a row vs some of Italy’s top teams and came up short in both. The Biancocelesti were also shut out by Juventus 2-0 and need answers quickly as they attempt to stay near the European qualification places.
While Lazio have had problems scoring goals in their past few matches the real problem has been defense. Giving up nearly two goals per game, Lazio have managed just two clean sheets in Serie A.
They’ve also been a poor pick for betting online as all five of their losses have come by a two-goal margin or more. It’s becoming clear that this isn’t the same team that made the Last 16 of the Champions League last season.
Losing forward Joaquin Correa to Atletico Madrid has clearly hurt and Adam Marusic has been out with COVID for the last few matches.
Simone Inzaghi took over Inter Milan in the offseason after five years at Lazio. Sarri’s start to life has certainly been up and down and he appears to be under a bit of pressure now.
Udinese Trying to Replace De Paul
Udinese have some decent results this season, most notably a 3-2 win over Sassuolo and draws vs Atalanta and Juventus. However, It’s worth noting that only one of those results came away from home and the Friuilians have been dreadful on the road. They have picked up just five points on the road from six matches and have only one win.
Their effort at home vs Genoa last weekend was pedestrian at best and they could muster just a scoreless draw. Firmly in the bottom half of the table, Udinese could find themselves in a little bit of trouble if the results don’t start coming.
Like last season, the biggest issue for Udinese has been scoring goals. To compound the problem, former captain and Argentinian International midfielder Rodrigo de Paul left for Atletico Madrid in the offseason. Oh and did I mention he was also their leading scorer?
De Paul managed nine Serie A goals and Udinese brought in Gerard Deulofeu and Portuguese striker Beto to try to help in that department. Between the two of them, they’ve managed seven goals already but there hasn’t been too much help.
Udinese have been one of the Serie A soccer picks to avoid up until this point and that doesn’t figure to change anytime soon.

Lazio vs Udinese Prediction
Maurizio Sarri may be on the hot seat if Lazio can’t take all three points here. There’s not many excuses for Lazio not to go on and win this game. They’re playing at home, have a more talented side and should be motivated from the beating they took last weekend. Plus, Udinese attacking midfielder Roberto Pereyra might miss this match.
Take Lazio to win at -150 in the sportsbook and don’t think twice about it.
