After losing their first two games of the season against Dortmund and Augsburg, Leverkusen will be eager to bounce back at home against Hoffenheim on Saturday. Our sportsbook is offering the best markets and bonuses for the German Bundesliga.
Leverkusen: Poor Conversion Rate
Having been stunned 4-3 by third-tier outfit SV Elversberg in the first round of the DFB-Pokal, Gerardo Seoane’s side sunk to a narrow 1-0 defeat Dortmund and failed to return to winning ways on Matchday 2, losing 2-1 at home against Augsburg. There wasn’t plenty of encouragement to be taken from Leverkusen’s performance ahead of their very winnable upcoming home match against Hoffenheim.
Patrik Schick and Co. registered 23 goal attempts and 10 shots on target against Augsburg but they only scored once. Leverkusen had never previously lost to Augsburg in 22 matches. It was the longest remaining unbeaten head-to-head record in Bundesliga history. On top of that, they’ve not lost their first two matches of a Bundesliga season since 2014-15.
It’s true, they are without Florian Wirtz, who’s still injured and will probably start playing again after the World Cup, but they have enough quality to beat teams like Augsburg. Following his red card in the match away to Borussia Dortmund, Leverkusen goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky has received a one-match ban, so he will take his place between the sticks on Saturday against Hoffenheim. The hosts are still one of our favorite sides to bet on, but we must find the best edge because it looks like they are still on holiday. If you’re betting online, lower your stakes at the start of the season because you might see many upsets.
Hoffenheim: Poor on the Road
Last season, Hoffenheim lost more than half of their road games and we expect them to have the same fate this term. They kicked off their Bundesliga campaign with a 3-1 defeat on the road to Gladbach, but they immediately bounced back by beating Bochum 3-2 on home soil. Hoffenheim came from two goals down and picked up their first win on Munas Dabbur’s late goal.
Hoffenheim was 10 Bundesliga fixtures without a win, dating back to their 1-0 victory over FC Koln back in March. They signed some solid players in the summer transfer window. Angelino from RB Leipzig, Grisha Promel from Union Berlin, Ozan Kabak from Schalke and Stanley Nsoki from Club Brugge definitely added extra quality to their squad. They are determined to improve on last season’s nine-place finish and maybe fight for a European spot.
Hoffenheim has an exciting attacking duo of Andrej Kramaric and Georginio Rutter. They should have plenty of space to deliver past the struggling Leverkusen backline. Stefan Posch is expected to take his place in the starting lineup after serving his one-game ban. Hoffenheim should take advantage of Leverkusen’s early struggles and return home with at least one point. The visitors are a good team to back when you’re betting on goals, so we will continue to include them in our soccer picks and parlays.

Leverkusen vs Hoffenheim Predictions
Despite losing two games in a row, the hosts enter this clash as -145 favorites on the three-way moneyline according to the latest soccer odds while the goal-line is set at 3½.
Both teams are very shaky at the back and are producing goals when they face each other. Leverkusen will be eager to return to winning ways and pick up their first win of the season while Hoffenheim will come here to play and pull off the upset. They are brilliant going forward and we expect them to score at least once on the road. It’s very tough to back the visitors after what happened this season so we’re going with the overs.
