As we quickly approach the latter stages of the 2022 campaign, Los Angeles FC is sitting pretty at the summit, racking up an incredible 51 points from 23 matches. They have won 16, drew three and lost four, scoring 48 goals in the process.
Los Angeles FC heads into this weekend’s fixture in stunning form. Since a disappointing 1-0 reverse to the Vancouver Whitecaps over a month ago, LAFC have won five on the trot, scoring 13 and conceding five. Last time out, they hammered Real Salt Lake 4-1 away from home and LAFC will be eyeing up a similar scoreline this Saturday.
Charlotte Lagging
Charlotte currently occupies the 11th spot in the Eastern Conference after a mixed bag of results this term. Miguel Angel Ramirez was dismissed in May after a poor run, with Italian coach Christian Lattanzio taking over on an interim basis.
Things have hardly improved for Charlotte on the field since the change in management, with the new boss guiding the North Carolina outfit to just four MLS wins. They have been in patchy form lately, winning three and losing three of the previous six.
Charlotte has collected just five points away from home all season. They have picked up only one win on their travels – a 2-1 success at Houston Dynamo in July – and no team in MLS this season has fewer points on the road. The Crown could do without a trip to the league leaders right now.
