Prior to the start of the season, Los Angeles FC and the Seattle Sounders were among the favorites to win the MLS Cup. That hasn’t changed, but there are 16 points between the two teams. While LAFC sits atop the Western Conference with a four-point advantage over second place, the Sounders have been struggling to access the playoff zone. However, they’re only one point out of seventh place.

Los Angeles FC: Heavy Artillery
Los Angeles FC has scored 42 goals. Only Austin FC has scored more with 45. Curiously enough, no LAFC player is among the league’s top five scorers. That doesn’t mean they don’t have lethal strikers or attacking midfielders. Quite the contrary.
There’s Cristian Arango, who has scored nine goals. There is also Jose Cifuentes and Carlos Vela, who have scored six goals each. As if that wasn’t enough, LAFC recently signed Gareth Bale, who commands the new wave of superstars in MLS.
Speaking of Bale, he scored his first goal last Saturday, helping LAFC defeat Sporting KC 2-0. Arango scored the first goal. As you can see, we weren’t exaggerating with the “Heavy Artillery.”

“From a personal point of view, it’s nice to get off the mark and most importantly get the three points,” Bale said after the game.
The Black and Gold have been an even more reliable soccer pick when playing at home, where they own an 8-2-1 record. Their only loss was against Austin FC 2-1. But that’s the thing: LAFC has scored in all home games and has finished with a clean sheet three times.
That being said, LAFC at -185 is a great betting online deal. Keep in mind that they opened at -175.
Seattle Sounders: Back on Track
The Seattle Sounders had a very rocky start to the MLS season as they were focused on becoming the first MLS team to win the CONCACAF Champions League. They did after defeating Pumas (Mexico) in the Grand Finale, allowing them to regain a lot of confidence.
They currently sit in the Western Conference’s ninth place. Last Saturday, they returned to the winning column by defeating the Colorado Rapids 2-1. Jordan Morris and Nicolas Lodeiro were the scorers. That was a huge victory for two reasons: They came from behind and managed to win despite playing with 10 the entire second half after Kelyn Rowe was sent off.
Seattle also has a very good attacking unit, led by Morris, who has scored six goals. He’s followed by Raul Ruidiaz, who has scored five. Last but not least, there’s also Lodeiro, who has scored four goals and collected six assists. Morris and Lodeiro were named to Week 22 Team of the Week.
The Sounders’ record on the road isn’t the best at 3-1-6, but they’ve put up a good fight in each game. Five of those defeats were by one goal. Plus, they kept a clean sheet in two of their three victories. It’s hard to imagine a more tempting online gambling underdog than Seattle, especially at +470. That means a $100 wager could turn into a $570 payout.

These two already met in the 2022 season. The Seattle Sounders played host to Los Angeles FC on June 18. Albert Rusnak opened the can for the home side at the beginning of the second half, but Arango scored the equalizer 20 minutes later.
Curiously enough, the Sounders have never defeated LAFC on the road in a regular-season game. Their lone victory (3-1) at Banc of California Stadium came in the 2019 playoffs.
