Game of the Week in MLS Western Conference
Fighting for Survival
Yeah, yeah, the schedule also includes Austin FC vs Nashville SC – second and fourth in the MLS Western Conference – but the Los Angeles Galaxy and Colorado Rapids are two historic franchises on the verge of elimination.
The Galaxy, who dominate the soccer odds thanks to a -150 price, have gone four straight games without winning. On the other hand, the Rapids, who are one point behind LA and riding a three-match unbeaten streak. I’m telling you; this is gonna be fun.

Let’s check the latest MLS picks, stats, injury reports, and USA MLS odds for Los Angeles Galaxy vs Colorado Rapids. We’ve plenty of MLS predictions and soccer betting for you to consider.
Los Angeles Galaxy: Not Enough
A few weeks ago, Los Angeles Galaxy shook the league by signing midfielder Riqui Puig, who used to play for FC Barcelona. At some point, some even called him Lionel Messi’s heir. Well, Puig is talented, but he hasn’t been enough to turn things around.
Most recently, the Galaxy lost 3-0 to the Vancouver Whitecaps, the team sitting in 11th place. Los Angeles won possession with 68 percent but only took two shots on target.
The Galaxy’s last home game ended in a draw, 2-2 against Sporting KC, which is in 12th place in the West. No disrespect to the other teams, but Puig and the company should have won those games.
We’re talking about an experienced, talented team. The defeat against Vancouver ended a run of seven straight matches with a goal. The good news is that Los Angeles hasn’t been shut out twice in a row since September 2021.
Despite recent results, the Galaxy deserves to be the betting online favorite. After all, they haven’t lost in their last five home games. Plus, they scored 14 goals and allowed only seven.
Colorado Rapids: The Three Musketeers
The Colorado Rapids’ season has been full of ups and downs. Lately, there have been more ups than downs. They’ve gone three straight games without losing, in which they scored five goals and allowed only two.
First, they visited D.C. United and drew 0-0. Later, they played host to the Vancouver Whitecaps and won 3-1. Most recently, they also played host to the San Jose Earthquakes and won 2-1. Diego Rubio scored in the last two games while Gyasi Zardes and Jonathan Lewis also scored against Vancouver. Those are the Three Musketeers. Rubio leads the way with 14 goals, Zardes has scored 10 and Lewis has scored five.
Not everything is perfect, though. Head coach Robin Fraser said the following after the game against San Jose: “At the end of the day, I give our guys a lot of credit for continuing to fight and finding two very good goals, two well-struck goals. The reality is at the end of the day, we really didn’t play that well. We needed real points more than we needed stats tonight, so we’ll take it and move on.”
The truth is that defeating San Jose kept them alive and made the Rapids a tempting underdog to include in this weekend’s soccer picks. After all, they’re highly motivated and are offering a +375 price. A $100 wager could turn into a $475 payout.
