Man City: Favorites to go all the way

Atletico Madrid: Huge improvement in recent months
The La Liga reigning champs have led a disappointing attempt to retain the title they won the last term, however, six domestic league wins in a row have allowed the club to grab a top-four spot, a place they now look unlikely to lose. They’ve earned their quarter-finals spot by knocking out the hosts’ city-rivals Manchester United in the Round of 16 after escaping the group of death featuring Liverpool, FC Porto, and AC Milan before the turn of the year.
Atletico Madrid played Liverpool in this season’s group stage and lost both matches before recording a 1-0 victory at Old Trafford. This is their first win against English clubs in six attempts, having lost to Chelsea in both legs of the Round of 16 knockouts last season. Their defense is a shadow of what it used to be in previous seasons as they are rarely keeping clean sheets this season. Man City can’t get away from the fact they’re favorites to win the Champions League trophy. They know it’s not that straightforward though, after falling short in previous seasons but they should have enough to beat Atletico. They will have a defensive approach and try to pull off the upset in the second leg on home soil.
