More than Favorites
Prior to the start of the season, Manchester City were the favorites to dethrone Real Madrid in the Champions League betting. Now, after what they did in Seville on Matchday 1, the Citizens are more than favorites. Erling Haaland being on fire also has a lot to do with that.

Manchester City: Scoring Machine
As recently mentioned, Manchester City began the continental tournament with a very comfortable (4-0) victory in Seville. The Citizens only needed 20 minutes to score. The other three goals were in the second half. Haaland was named Man of the Match, that after a brace. Phil Foden and Ruben Dias also scored.
The Citizens have also been money in the bank in the English Premier League at 4-2-0 (goal differential of 20-6). They’ve been an even more reliable soccer pick at Etihad Stadium, 3-0-0 (14 goals scored, only two against).

Borussia Dortmund: Inconsistent
Borussia Dortmund began their UCL journey with a 3-0 victory over Copenhagen. They didn’t miss Haaland, as Marco Reus and Raphael Guerreiro scored in the opening half. Jude Bellingham added one in the second half.
The problem is the Black and Yellows have failed, too. They lost, 3-0, to RB Leipzig, the team sitting 10th in the Bundesliga. The worst part is that they didn’t even take a single shot on target.
“We found it difficult to get into the game. Leipzig were good, they played with speed down the flanks and sent a lot of balls in behind. Leipzig had more vigor and were more dangerous. We will put this game behind us as quickly as possible,” midfielder Salih Ozcan said.
That’s what they’ve done of late. Dortmund haven’t lost two road games in a row since November of 2021. That and a +1200 price they’re offering in the sportsbook makes them tempting as an underdog. Also, not losing leaves room for a draw, priced at +700.

Borussia Dortmund might not miss Erling Haaland in the Bundesliga. They will in the UCL. Anthony Modeste, Haaland’s replacement, is 34. Expect the visitors to score in Wednesday’s match.
