Monaco: Amazing Form

Monaco has won their last four domestic encounters and trails Nice by a single point for a place in the Europa Conference League and three points behind the Champions League spots. When Monaco was knocked out of the Europa League last month, it appeared as though that would be the last European clash we would see them play until at least the 2023/24 season. Since their exit from that competition, however, their fortunes in the league have changed dramatically, with Philippe Clement’s side currently on their longest winning run since the Belgium coach took over.

In what has been an overwhelming season featuring a team that has been hot and cold, the hosts seem to be finding their footing just in time. While they have done what is needed to pick up three points in each of their previous four encounters, it has not been easy, as they narrowly defeated relegation-threatened sides Metz and Troyes, both times by a 2-1 score, coming back from one goal down to beat Rennes 3-2 last weekend.

Wissam Ben Yedder is doing an amazing job in front of goal. He scored four goals in his last four appearances for his club including a brace against leaders Paris Saint-Germain. Their individual class has carried them through numerous games, and that quality will be put to the test over the next four days as they face two tough teams, Nice and St. Etienne. Those upcoming encounters could determine their European fate for the next season.

They are playing at home, they won four games in a row scoring goals for fun and we expect them to win this clash so we will include them in our soccer picks and parlays. Guillermo Maripan is out until late April with a knee injury, and Krepin Diatta will not return this season after suffering a torn ACL.

Nice: Rock-Solid at The Back

Nice’s 1st season under Ligue 1 reigning champ Christophe Galtier has been solid. Galtier led Lille to the French league title last season by relying on a strong defense and a smart blend of youth and experience. The coach is now trying to do the same with Nice. The visitors have the best defense in the league this term with just 28 goals allowed in 32 games.

Nice has one of the most prolific one-two punches in the league with Amine Gouiri and Andy Delort, who have combined for 22 goals. Andy Delort scored a brace in the 2-1 win over Lorient. But don’t expect the team to fearlessly attack on the road against Monaco. The worst thing that can happen against Monaco is when you attack and don’t finish plays and then the opponent hits you on the fast break.

Galtier has improved the team within a few months. Nice is in fourth place with the tightest defense. The similarities with the Lille of last season are striking. Under Galtier, Lille clinched the title by having the best defense and the fourth-best attack. It’s too soon to talk about the title but Galtier is trying to earn a European spot. Nice finished in ninth place last season and lacked cohesion and creativity under Patrick Vieira. Nice hopes to earn a Champions League spot for the first time since the 2016/17 season when they finished third under Lucien Favre. If you’re betting online, you should know that Nice is one of the teams to watch and bet on.

Monaco vs Nice Head-to-Heads

Monaco loves playing Nice. They’ve lost just once in their previous six mutual encounters winning four games in the process. They won none out of 16 home games this term scoring 31 goals in the process. On the other side, Nice is one of the best road teams in the league winning half of their 16 away games and conceding just 12 goals in the process. Unfortunately, they failed to win any of their previous five road games losing three in the process.

Monaco vs Nice Predictions

The hosts enter this clash as favorites being priced at -115 on the three-way moneyline according to the latest soccer odds while the goal line is set at 2½.

There is much at stake for both teams heading into this encounter, and they each have plenty of talented players capable of producing moments of brilliance that can turn one point into three. We should see some great opportunities from both teams, but given the importance of this game, we should see at least three goals on the scoresheet.

Nice is clearly the underdog in this game. Nevertheless, we still expect them to contribute to the scoreboard and help us cash our bet.

Pick: Over 2½ goals in the match at -125
