Geodis Park Becoming a Fortress
Nashville SC waited a long time to play its first home game of the season at Geodis Park. Now, the Six String have played four matches at their new stadium and they remain unbeaten with a 3-1-0 record.
Atlanta United, a team that has struggled a lot when playing on the road, comes next. The Five Stripes can’t afford to lose, though. Otherwise, they could fall out of the playoffs zone. As expected, Nashville dominates the soccer lines at -105.
Let’s check the latest news, stats, injury reports and USA MLS odds for Nashville vs Atlanta United. We’ve plenty of soccer predictions for you to consider.
Nashville Regained Confidence
After losing 2-0 to the Houston Dynamo despite playing with one more player for 55 minutes, Nashville SC needed a victory. They got it at Geodis Park against then-Eastern Conference leaders CF Montreal.
Alex Muyl opened the can prior to the 30-minute mark. Hany Mukhtar increased the advantage six minutes into the second half. The visitors reduced the deficit thanks to Kei Kamara (55 minutes), but Nashville’s defense was able to hold the fort. That victory allowed the Six Strings to climb up to sixth place in the Western Conference.
“This game was about feeling like ourselves again. No one cares if you’re tired. No one cares if you’re hurt or you’re sick, you have to put in a performance. That’s what’s going to separate us if we can take the next step as a club and a team,” Muyl said after the game.
The Six Strings have scored in all four games — eight goals total — played at Geodis Park. On the other hand, they’ve allowed four goals, finishing with a clean sheet once. They definitely deserve to be the betting online favorites. They won the last two games when playing as the favorites.
Nashville’s injury report includes Teal Bunbury, Robert Castellanos, Irakoze Donasiyano, Randall Leal and Ahmed Longmire. All five are questionable, so there’s hope for head coach Gay Smith to have more options to choose from.
Atlanta United Needs Resounding Victory
Atlanta United’s last victory was two weeks ago, 4-1 over the Chicago Fire. Not bad, but considering Chicago is sitting in last place in the Eastern Conference, that was expected. Plus, that was Atlanta’s only victory in its last five games in all competitions.
Most recently, the Five Stripes drew 2-2 to the New England Revolution. Again, not bad, but New England has had a very rocky start to the season, and they were playing at home. In other words, they should have won.
AAtlanta has struggled a lot when playing on the road (1-0-4). Its lone victory was against DC United (1-0). Overall, the Five Stripes have scored three goals when playing on the road and have allowed eight.
The good news for Atlanta is that Josef Martinez was seen back in training. The team’s all-time leading scorer returned roughly six weeks after having arthroscopic surgery to clean out some debris in his right knee. Having him back is the extra dose of motivation that the entire team needed. Martinez is a leader on and off the field.
The Five Stripes are offering a +310 price in the sportsbook. The last time they pulled off a stunner was against DC United, when they were offering a +210 price.

Nashville vs Atlanta United Prediction
Nashville SC averages 1.08 goals per game. However, the Six Strings scored two or more goals in three of their last four games. On the other hand, Atlanta United has scored 17 goals. That’s one more than the Philadelphia Union, the team atop the Eastern Conference. Plus, Martinez could get back into action. Therefore, I expect another fast-paced game in which both will score. Enough for my football prediction to be the total going over.
Score Prediction: Nashville SC 2, Atlanta United 1
