Road Team Boosts Odds of Ligue 1 Parlay

Montpellier vs Nice: Value on Visitors
Christophe Galtier guided Lille to the Ligue 1 title last season, interrupting PSG’s domestic dominance. That is not to suggest that Galtier can make Nice title challengers but, with many of their rivals fighting for the European places involved in other competitions, Nice could finish the season in the top three and earn a Champions League spot.

Speaking after his Nice side’s win over the French giants PSG, Galtier praised the collective nature of his team’s performance, pointing out the difference in the threat posed by the opponents in the absence of Kylian Mbappe, suspended for that clash. Still, it was a great win from a team fully packed with quality players. They now travel to play Montpellier and they are priced at +125 on the three-way moneyline according to the latest soccer odds.

Nice have struggled to maintain pace with the likes of Lyon and Lille in recent seasons. The last five editions of the French top-flight league have also seen the club plummet to newer lows, even finishing below the likes of Lens and Rennes. In the last two editions, they made some progress by finishing fifth in the standings. Nevertheless, European participation eluded them. They are now sitting second with 49 points earned in 27 games, 13 points behind leaders PSG but two points above third-place Marseille.
Nice have the best defense in the league with 21 goals allowed and they are one of the best away teams in Ligue 1 with eight wins in 13 road games and just seven goals conceded. On the other side, Montpellier enters this clash on the back of four defeats in their previous five fixtures, failing to find the back of the net on two occasions.
Galtier’s arrival brought much-needed optimism to the club’s fanbase. His track record in French football of transforming struggling teams into championship outfits is second to none. Nice showed great ambition in the transfer market by roping in Algerian striker Andy Delort. Promising Dutch winger Calvin Stengs was purchased from AZ Alkmaar. Both of these signings have allowed Galtier to afford a more attacking 4-3-3 set-up.
Nice’s deadly attacking line Dolberg and Delort have contributed more than half of their goals this term. They are a team to watch and bet on and that’s why we include them in our soccer picks and parlays when they are priced at plus money.
Pick: Nice +125
Brest vs Marseille
Marseille’s European commitments are the main reasons for their slide in form. They are winless in their previous three domestic league fixtures, losing two in the process and failing to contribute on the scoreboard on two occasions. Surprisingly, they are the best road team in the French top-flight league, losing just two of 13 away games. After dropping eight points in their last three games, they fell to third place in the standings and they are just one point above fourth-place Rennes.
Marseille did manage to eliminate Qarabag in the Round of 32 of UEFA Europa Conference League by scoring three goals in each of two legs, but their domestic league form has been far from ideal of late. If you’re betting online, we recommend you avoid backing them this season. They are not reliable and, on top of that, they have a busy schedule with matches every three days.
On the other side, Brest is one of the most entertaining teams in the league. They are great going forward but they can’t keep clean sheets — the perfect combo for betting the overs in every single match. We’ve seen both teams scoring and going over 2½ goals in the last four mutual encounters between the two sides, and we expect the same outcome on Sunday.
