Eastern Conference Second Place on Line
Prior to the start of the season, Orlando City and the New York Red Bulls weren’t among the favorites to win the MLS Cup. They weren’t among the dark horses. Eight games later, things have changed as both are fighting at the top of the Eastern Conference.
The Lions are offering a +140 price in the sportsbook, enough for them to be the favorites. However, the Red Bulls remain unbeaten on the road, making them a tempting underdog. Let’s get ready to rumble!
Let’s check the latest news, stats, injury reports, and USA MLS odds for Orlando City vs New York Red Bulls. We’ve plenty of soccer predictions predictions for you to consider.
Orlando City SC on a Roll
After suffering a devastating 4-2 loss to Los Angeles FC, Orlando City has accumulated three straight victories.
Midweek, they defeated the Tampa Bay Rowdies 2-1 in the U.S. Open Cup. Alexandre Pato and Junior Urso were the scorers. Prior to that, they defeated the Chicago Fire 1-0 and the Columbus Crew 2-0. Ercan Kara scored in both games.
Those were the Lions’ first back-to-back victories since early October. Including playoffs, this is just Orlando’s second winning streak in its last 33 MLS games. In other words, you can expect a highly motivated team.
As if that wasn’t enough, the Lions have finished with a clean sheet in five of their eight games. Curiously enough, things got better since Rodrigo Schlegel replaced Antonio Carlos in the starting lineup. The Brazilian suffered a hamstring injury two weeks ago and isn’t expected to return soon.
Orlando owns a 2-0-2 record when playing at home. They were the soccer betting favorites in all four games.
New York Red Bulls Better on the Road
Believe it or not, the New York Red Bulls haven’t won a single game at home. On the other hand, they’re 3-0-0 when playing on the road. First time they’ve won their first three road games. That alone should be enough for you to consider including them in your soccer picks. However, there’s more.
Just like Orlando, the Red Bulls played in the third round of the U.S. Open Cup Wednesday. They defeated Hartford Athletic 2-1 with goals from Lewis Morgan and Aaron Long. Morgan is having a great start to the season with four goals in all competitions.
“Our main goal was to get every single player on the same page and go step-by-step with this process. Now we have a whole group together and we are much further in the process — everybody knows we are on a different level now,” head coach Gerhard Struber said in a recent interview.
Besides winning all their road games, the Red Bulls have outscored their opponents 7-2. They n finished with a clean sheet in their last road game in New England.
All the above, plus a +215 price to win straight up, makes the Red Bulls a tempting underdog.

This is a great example of what would happen when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object. In this case, the New York Bulls are the unstoppable force after having won all their road games. Orlando City is the immovable object thanks to its highly improved defense. Therefore, my Soccer betting prediction is a draw in which both will score but the total will go under.
Score Prediction: Orlando City 1, New York Red Bulls 1
