Nice View
Prior to the start of the season, the New England Revolution were atop the odds board to win the MLS Cup. On the other hand, the Philadelphia Union wasn’t even among the dark horses to win the Eastern Conference.
Well, we’re 20 games into the regular season and things have completely changed. The Zolos are in first place and own an 11-point advantage over the Revs, who by the way have three straight games without winning.
As expected, the Zolos come in as the betting online favorites.
Let’s check the latest MLS news, stats, injury reports, and MLS odds for Philadelphia Union vs New England Revolution. We’ve plenty of MLS picks and predictions for you to consider.
Philadelphia Union: No Place Like Home
The Philadelphia Union only lost one of their last 10 MLS games. It was on the road against the Chicago Fire, and the Zolos played the last 17 minutes with one player less. Jose Andres Martinez was sent off.
Overall, the Zolos have lost only two games, both on the road. That’s right, they remain unbeaten when playing at Subaru Stadium thanks to a 5-5-0 record. Most recently, they crushed DC United 7-0. No, that’s not a typo. Julian Carranza was the Man of the Match after scoring a hat-trick.
Midweek, they visited Inter Miami and won 2-1. Daniel Gazdag and Cory Burke were the scorers. Gazdag is the team’s top scorer with eight goals, followed by Carranza with seven and Alejandro Bedoya with five.
The unbeaten record at home and that attacking trio should be enough for you to consider including them in your soccer picks, but there’s more. Philly is the best defensive team in the league after allowing only 14 goals. Second best has allowed 21.
All of the above makes Philly deserve to be the favorite at -110.
New England Revolution: Time To Bounce Back
As mentioned before, the New England Revolution are winless in their last three games. They drew 0-0 to the Vancouver Whitecaps, 2-2 to CF Cincinnati, and lost 4-2 to New York City FC. As if that wasn’t enough, they lost Andrew Farrell due to a red card.
Even so, the Revs are sitting in ninth place, one victory away from climbing to sixth. Gustavo Bou and reigning MVP Carles Gil are the main reason for the shop to stay afloat. Bou is the team’s top scorer with six goals, scoring in three of their last four games. On the other hand, Gil leads the team in assists with six. He was recently named to the MLS All-Star Game for the second straight season.
There’s also Sebastian Lletget, who arrived during the offseason and is starting to make a difference.
“I think every game it just keeps getting better. If we can minimize mistakes, especially after we score, we can defeat anybody in this league. Fortunately, those things are in our control,” the offensive midfielder said during a press conference.
He’s not wrong. Prior to losing to the Citizens, New England went 10 straight games without losing. They could have gotten a better result against the reigning champs, but they conceded three penalties, all in the first half, becoming the first MLS team to do so.
The visitors, who own a 2-3-4 record when playing away from home, are offering a +305 price in the sportsbook to win straight up. It won’t be easy to find a more tempting underdog.

Most recently, they met at Gillette Stadium and drew 1-1. Bou opened the can at 75 minutes, while Mikkel Uhre scored the equalizer only two minutes later. Those are the details Lletget was referring to.

Philadelphia Union vs New England Revolution Prediction
Prior to New England’s five-game streak without losing against the Union, Philadelphia only lost one of its previous 15 MLS matches against the Revs. Plus, the Zolos are unbeaten in their last 15 home games. That’s the longest active streak in MLS and the longest in the team’s history. That should be motivation enough to end up winning a close battle as the Revs won’t be easy prey. After all, Bou is on fire!
